Senior Manager of Accounting

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Accounting, to join our accounting team.  The candidate will have responsibility for accounting operations, supervision of accounting staff, the month-end close process, technical accounting research, policy implementation and documentation, and managing external audits. The candidate will be a detail-oriented individual, provide hands-on support, and have a strong background in accounting, including revenue recognition. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Oversee the monthly financial close process including consolidation and financial reporting. Ensure all activities have been recorded, accounts reconciled, and reporting completed on a timely basis.
• Responsible for assigned accounting areas including revenue and accounts receivable activities, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analyses.
• Prepare financial statements, schedules, and analyses, along with supporting documentation for monthly and annual reporting.
• Manage a team of direct reports, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, providing guidance, and encouraging professional growth and development.
• Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices to streamline workflows.
• Assist in creation and maintenance of internal controls and policies.
• Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
• Establish yourself as a key advisor to business partners on financial matters. Become a sought out, value added resource.
• Lead, support and assist with special projects, optimization initiatives, system implementations, and ad hoc analyses.

General Knowledge & Skills:

• 5 -8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including a combination of public (Big 4 firms) and private.
• 2+ years of management experience. Track record developing high-performance individuals and teams.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA required.
• In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, technical accounting, and internal controls.
• Exceptional communication skills that demonstrate the ability to interact with all levels of the organization with a high customer service orientation.
• Strong leadership with proven ability to collaborate with business partners to drive change.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce, a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in working with large data sets to summarize, compare, and evaluate data.
