About the Role:
The Senior Manager of Accounting Integration is an integral member of Trace3’s Finance team as we execute an aggressive growth strategy through M&A. The Senior Manager will assist with transferring accounting data from various software platforms, serve as an accounting subject matter expert and drive internal process alignment and improvement efforts. In addition to leading the accounting integration, this position provides guidance and practical advice on purchase accounting and related valuation of acquired assets.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage financial integration between acquisition targets into Trace3’s accounting environment, as well as coordinate/ensure proper integration of other integration workstreams Â
- Understand the target’s financial control environment, financial statements, and business operations of the acquired entities to drive post-acquisition integration activitiesÂ
- Strengthen internal controls, and enhance accounting processes to accelerate close activities while maintaining accuracy and integrity in financial reportingÂ
- Identify and resolve cross-functional issues and risks where possible; predict problems and solve them before they impact teams and outcomes
- Migrate acquisition target IT systems to Trace3’s financial IT landscape (including Cash & Banking systems) Â
- Support the annual financial audits of the recent and future acquisitions by its external audit firmsÂ
- Assists with identifying and prioritizing continuous process improvement across the Finance function and use cases for finance process automation.Â
- Provide regular updates to the leadership team on progress, key decisions, and major risks/issues that need to be resolved
- Facilitate retrospectives to extract lessons learned from various functions and workstreams at critical junctures of the accounting integration phases
- Maintain and update the M&A post-acquisition integration playbook based on best practices and lessons learned
Qualifications & Interests:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field
- 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting is a plus), including 3+ years of managerial experience leading a teamÂ
- CPA certification strongly preferred
- 3 years’ experience managing accounting acquisition integrations
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite
- A deep understanding of effective accounting processes and controls and a proven track record of developing and managing a highly effective and efficient corporate accounting function
- Solid knowledge of GAAP;Â experience with Sarbanes-Oxley is a plus
- Ability to manage and motivate the team through an evolving, fast-paced environment
- Willingness to be “hands-on” and comfortable digging into the details of the accounting organization while still operating strategically
- Confident and personable;Â excellent written and verbal communication skills, direct and straightforward but tactful and diplomaticÂ
- Ability to interact effectively with a variety of personalities and to gain confidence quickly of those inside and outside of Trace3
- Comfortable in a corporate culture based on open communication, where information and ideas are exchanged freely
- Strong ability to act as a change agent within the organization
