Senior Manager of Cost Accounting

Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Cost Accounting, plays a critical role in ensuring that we deliver timely, relevant cost and financial information to key stakeholders, including business partners, external and internal auditors.  This position also ensures that we have sufficient internal controls to assure that our financial results are to a high standard and meet all GAAP requirements. The successful candidate will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with business partners to deliver guidance and to provide the financial perspective to operations. We’re looking for someone who will embrace the challenges and opportunities of joining a fast-growing, public company. Further, this Manager is responsible for identifying and driving process improvements that will drive scale, improve financial accuracy, and drive business understanding. This is a unique finance opportunity to join a team when the business is early in its lifecycle with the ability to gain broad visibility to the operations business aspects of Outset.

Responsibilities/Functions

• Partner with Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, and other COE’s to establish the processes which will deliver accurate financial results
• Own standard cost, labor and overhead rates and support the related accounting and audit process.
• Prepare KPIs and other business indicators as part of our financial reporting process.
• Examine and develop management reporting for material and labor variances, drive solutions to reduce E&O and scrap.
• Identify business risks to financial reporting and support our established SOX processes.
• Develop and mentor staff so they can grow and develop their skills in order to provide business scale.
• Educate cross functional partners and documenting processes in order to ensure compliance with internal company procedures.
• Identify and lead initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale reporting tools, processes, and methodologies
• Own monthly / quarterly cost related close cycles to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting, or related field
• Minimum 12-16 years of experience in a Finance and accounting related roles, including a minimum of 4 years in Cost Accounting.

• Previous cost accounting experience required
• Strong problem-solving skills, highly analytical with attention to detail
• High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

The Annual Salary Range for this role will be:  $135,000.00 - $183,000.00
