Senior Manager of Data Privacy

Bungie is looking for a Senior Manager of Data Privacy. As the Senior Manager of Data Privacy, you will have the opportunity to build and manage our Data Privacy program, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the ethical and compliant handling of personal data. Reporting to the Managing Director of Analytics & Player Data Services, you will play a pivotal role in building systems that sustain trust between Bungie and our players.

 RESPONSIBILITIES

• Program manage the Data Compliance Working Group, facilitating collaboration across Engineering, Legal, Marketing, and Development teams.
• Document data inventory, storage locations, and access privileges to inform comprehensive data governance practices.
• Partner with Development teams and Martech to build compliance tools that support our data privacy and child-safety goals.
• Create and oversee data retention and deletion processes and workflows, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
• Lead the development and program management of new systems to ensure our company maintains a strong commitment to data privacy and upholds rigorous child safety policies.
• Track progress and deliver routine executive-level reporting on program performance vs goals.
• Monitor emerging trends and regulatory changes in data privacy.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Experience in data privacy management, preferably within the video game industry or related technology sectors covering large-scale international user bases and multiple ETL pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and best practices for data privacy, including child-safety compliance measures (COPPA).
• Proven experience leading, aligning, and facilitating effective collaboration among cross-functional teams toward a common goal.
• Excellent documentation skills, capable of creating clear and concise reports.
• Familiarity with data management tools and practices, data deletion processes, retention policies, and workflows to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Effective communication and leadership skills to drive initiatives and influence stakeholders.
• The ability to work independently with a strong bias-for-action and proven leadership in times of urgency.

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• CIPP certification (or comparable training).
• Experience managing or leading others, particularly on privacy-related programs.
• Knowledge of the video games industry.
