Position Overview:
As the Senior Manager of Enterprise Data, you will spearhead our organization's comprehensive data management initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring seasoned expertise to the table, driving the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-wide data strategies, ensuring the integrity, security, and accessibility of critical business information. The Senior Manager of Enterprise Data will collaborate cross-functionally, aligning data management practices with organizational objectives and fostering innovation in data utilization. Job Summary/Responsibilities:
Data Strategy and Governance:
- Develop and execute a robust data management strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance.
Enterprise Data Architecture:
- Lead the design and implementation of a scalable and flexible enterprise data architecture.
- Evaluate and select appropriate data technologies and tools to support organizational needs.
Data Integration and Management:
- Oversee the integration of data from various sources, ensuring data consistency and quality.
- Implement and manage data lifecycle processes, from acquisition and storage to distribution and archival.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and align data initiatives with organizational goals.
- Collaborate with IT teams, including infrastructure, analytics, and applications, to ensure seamless integration of data solutions.
Data Security and Compliance:
- Implement and monitor data security measures to safeguard sensitive information.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy regulations.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation in data management practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in enterprise data management.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of data professionals.
- Oversee and cultivate a team of 3-7 direct reports, outlining goals and objectives, and managing performance.
- Collaborate with HR on recruitment, orientation, performance evaluation, and training.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for other team members.
Additional Functions, Duties & Accountabilities:
- Serve as a member of Technology team and support others as necessary.
- Maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet business needs.
- Actively and positively contribute to the overall success of the company through regular contributions to the general management of the company.
- Participate and provide leadership in inter-departmental meetings, projects and informal activities.
- Support the company and other departments wherever and whenever your skills and experience would be beneficial.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience (7+ years) in a senior-level role overseeing enterprise data management.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance, data architecture, and data integration best practices.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and managing successful teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with relevant data technologies and tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in data management.
