Position: Senior Manager of Institutional Giving

Locations: Twin Cities

Employment type: Full-time, Exempt

Reports to: Director of Advancement

Salary: $71,500

Purpose of Position

As a member of the Advancement Team, the Senior Manager of Institutional Giving is responsible for leading and managing our institutional fundraising revenue stream. In partnership with the Director of Advancement, this position is responsible for building and monitoring the grants pipeline, developing the annual case for support, writing grant applications and reports, and managing donor relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure contributed income through institutional fundraising to meet Genesys Works Twin Cities fundraising goals (92%)
    • Build and manage grants calendar and pipeline to meet the institutional fundraising goal.
    • Cultivate relationships with funders, sharing portfolio manager responsibilities with the director; Conduct annual meetings and sharing updates throughout the year.
    • Ensure completion and/or delegation of grant proposals, reports, and prospect research.
    • Serve as point of contact for scheduling, preparing, and hosting of select site visits.
    • Ensure integrity and consistency in the donor database.
    • Develop an annual case for support boilerplate.
    • Convene regular meetings with internal grant partners.
    • Partner intently with program, finance, and operations colleagues to gather accurate grant materials (for proposals and reports) including budgets, data, and stories.

    • Play a supporting role in revenue generation from individual donors and event sponsorships.
    • Support cultivation and stewardship events.
    • Actively participate in key organizational events and initiatives.
    • Incorporate diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility values in advancement strategies and ethical storytelling.
    • Advance Genesys Works' mission by supporting other parts of the organization including student recruitment.

Qualifications

  • 6 years of development/fundraising experience, of which, a minimum of 4 years of experience in institutional giving, grant writing, and reporting
  • Demonstrated track record of securing multi-year gifts and government grants
  • Strong project management competencies, including organizational and problem-solving skills, strong skills in time management, and attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate a strong and compelling case for support
  • Ability to think strategically and build successful fundraising strategies for growth
  • Self-driven, can work well independently on a team, and cross-functionally
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to flex and adapt as the situation requires
  • Driver's license is strongly encouraged with the ability to travel throughout the Twin Cities metro area, including locations inaccessible by public transit
  • Alignment with Genesys Works values and excitement for the mission

Compensation and How to Apply

Starting annual salary for this position is $71,500. As an organization we value pay equity transparency for candidates and current Genesys Works staff. We offer market-based salaries that are based on local data. Comprehensive benefits package includes health coverage, paid time off, and (10) company holidays; a 403(b) retirement plan with company match; validated parking near the Genesys Works office in downtown St. Paul, and a communication allowance.

Genesys Works utilizes a hybrid structure, with an expectation that employees work both remotely and in-person at our downtown St. Paul office.
