About the opportunity
Ontra is seeking a Senior Manager of Talent Management & Development,reporting to our VP of Talent Strategy & Acquisition, to lead our newly-formed Talent Management & Development team.
The role is a great opportunity to collaborate with enablement leaders across the company to provide a clear growth path for all employees, and partner with functional team leads to identify and address skills and learning gaps across the business to create opportunities that uplevel our employee base. We're specifically looking for someone who can identify opportunities for the Talent Management & Development team to support the organization and its employees proactively rather than reactively.

What you'll do

  • Own the company's talent management programs, including performance management and talent review, as well as associated career progression and talent development programming and workstreams.
  • Build initial and ongoing programs for skills training, industry education, and values-based competency training to ensure that our employees have the tools they need to best serve our customers and to develop professionally.
  • Support bridging the gap from hire to fully ramped by supporting a clear onboarding structure and ensuring the Talent Development team partners effectively with the Talent Acquisition and Employee Experience teams to increase Quality of Hire, decrease time to ramp, and foster a culture of learning.
  • Partner with functional team leadership to conduct annual needs analysis to identify and address skills and learning gaps across the business and create opportunities to uplevel our employee base.


What you'll bring

  • Experience: 8+ years of relevant People experience with a focus on Talent Management or organizational development; experience working in or supporting corporate training and development a plus.
  • People Management: 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Expertise: Experience managing an employee development and engagement platform (Lattice preferred); Experience managing an LMS (Workramp preferred); familiarity with instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles a plus.
  • Consultative Collaborator: Understands the importance of communication and is skilled at facilitating discussions, gathering feedback, and presenting ideas in a clear and concise manner; an active listener and problem-solver who strives to build strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect.
  • Naturally Curious: Asks questions and seeks out new information, often delving deeper into a subject to gain a more complete understanding; willing to consider different perspectives (even if they don't align with your own).
  • Organized and detail-oriented: Ability to break down complex projects into smaller, manageable tasks, and create a structured plan with clear timelines and milestones; pays attention to details while keeping the big picture in mind.
  • Analytical: Skilled at examining data from different angles and perspectives to identify trends, draw conclusions, and make informed decisions.
  • Flexible: Can navigate changes, uncertainties, and unexpected obstacles that arise during projects, and adjust plans, resources, and strategies as-needed while maintaining a focus on project goals.


Pay transparency
Ontra takes individual candidate location, experience, and skills into consideration when determining compensation. The base pay range is listed below. Additionally, all positions are eligible for unit-based equity grants.
Some positions may be eligible for additional compensation, such as commission or other variable compensation structures, which is not included in the below base pay range.

Base pay range
$140,000 - $210,000 USD
