This position is on-site at our Plant in Jeffersonville, IN. To be considered for this position, you must reside within commuting distance to our Plant.Â
Â
What you’ll be doing:
- Account for inventory under US GAAP and in accordance with company accounting policies
- Prepare and/or review monthly inventory-related journal entriesÂ
- Perform and/or review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Perform flux analysis on respective balance sheet and P&L accounts
- Achieve completion of all month/quarter/annual close processes timely and in adherence to close calendar
- Collaborate with Technical Accounting on appropriate accounting for inventory transactions
- Partner with FP&A on budget/forecast and close results related to the plant
- Design, document, implement, and execute internal controls to ensure inventory is adequately safeguarded and accurately reported
- Support external audit by providing timely and accurate support schedules as requested
- Continuous evaluation and identification of process improvements
- Cultivate strong partnerships with Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain/Operations, plant management, and other functions
- Maintain accurate and reliable manufacturing inventory records for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
- Partner with Supply Chain/Operations on developing/revising processes and policies consistent with third party warehouse locations
- Support and observe physical inventory processes and counts in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Perform inventory analysis at SKU level to determine appropriate methodologies and reserves for shrink and excess/obsolete/slow-moving inventory
- Partner with plant operations to develop and update standard labor and overhead rates
- Set up bill of material and labor routings and perform periodic audits to ensure product costs correctly reflect production operations
- Perform analysis of COGS accounts for the plant and provide insight into account details and drivers of change
- Prepare and analyze monthly operational reports, including material, labor, and overhead efficiency and productivity costs compared to plan
- Review and analyze manufacturing cost variances and provide insight into root cause and recommendations of corrective actions
- Coordinate labor tracking with plant management to minimize and/or address labor variances
- Observe plant operations regularly to stay current on manufacturing process and costs
- Collaborate with plant management and operations on identifying and quantifying areas of cost savings in the manufacturing processes
- Attend regular plant meetings and collaborate with plant operations regarding continuous process improvements initiatives
- Identify and quantify areas of cost savings in manufacturing processes
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and tasks related to factory cost savings opportunities
- Handle special projects related to technology, systems, automation, new initiatives, or other requests

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university
- CPA or CMA (or path to one of these) required; MBA a plus
- 10+ years of work experience in Accounting roles; Supply Chain experience a plusÂ
- Experience in manufacturing and inventory cost accounting requiredÂ
- Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- Big 4 and or public company experience preferred
- NetSuite experience a plus
