We are seeking a Senior Manager PMO to join our team at the Nissan North Americas Headquarters in Franklin, TN.

Job Description:

As a Senior Manager - Program Management Office, you will work in concert with the NML PD Team/NNA oPD as "CEO" and guardian of profit of assigned vehicle program(s). The role requires utilizing all business levers to optimize the current and future profitability and market presence (market share, OaO and on-time delivery) through the Nissan global program axis. As a senior manager, the candidate must take an active leadership role for the job functions detailed below.

Job Functions:

  • Plans, organizes, secures, and manages resources to bring about the successful completion of program milestones and profitability targets. Defines strategy, objectives, scope, milestone, and schedule in line with program KPIs and company objectives. Monitors and assesses progress, enacts recovery plan as needed.
  • Take complex data, synthesize it & apply analytics to modeling & scenario analysis. Interprets the outputs to influence business decisions. Defines & timely adjusts business strategy to take advantage of emerging market conditions & opportunities, ensuring sustained business performance. Takes into consideration various sources of information to make sound business decisions.
  • Develops program objectives and takes actions required to align with Company's overall strategy and vision. Understands business metrics & relevant data to build credibility with the business. Maintains awareness of external business environment & competitive factors influencing the business. Demonstrates creativity and entrepreneurial spirit in approach to program management.
  • Negotiate skillfully in tough situations. Can win concessions without damaging relationships. Can be direct & forceful as well as diplomatic. Is cognizant of relationships and careful to quickly gain trust of other parties in negotiations.
  • Prepares and understands the importance of maintaining executive presence in presentations, all communications, judgement and decision making, and at all times while partnering with the business and leading others. Exhibits a presence that contributes to the ability to command attention and respect; conveys an air of confidence and instills confidence in others.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally including but not limited to Finance, Product Planning, Marketing & Sales, Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, Corp Planning, Corp Development, etc. and Japan to establish and manage program milestones, lifecycle plans, MTP, FY plans and opportunities to improve/thoroughly assess risk on program profitability.

Management Accountabilities:

  • Has subordinate managers (not supervisors) and/or senior level individual contributors or contractors. Manages employees by establishing annual performance goals, allocating resources, assessing annual performance, and determining individual merit, incentive and/or promotional increases. Supervises and provides leadership, coaching, guidance, training, career counseling and staff development, interviews and selects employees; recommends merit increases, transfers and promotions; counsels and disciplines employees as necessary; recommends termination when appropriate; and monitors attendance of subordinates.
  • As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.

Job Knowledge and Skill:

Team leadership experience/proficiency and negotiation experience/proficiency is required.

Thorough knowledge of business process and financial principles supporting program management. Thorough knowledge of statistical processes and data analysis techniques. Good oral and written communication skills. Good organization skills.

Experience:

BS degree and 10 years of related experience at a professional level, including two or more years as a Leader in program, or complex project management. Advanced degree in a related discipline preferred. Consider equivalent related college or technical courses, seminars and in-house classroom training.

Computer Skills:

Working knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, other PC applications, or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products.

Executive level presentation and content experience required
