Global Lending and Cobrand, a business unit within the Global Consumer Services Group at American Express, is responsible for accelerating growth in our lending, lending on charge and cobrand portfolios to meet our customers' evolving buying and payment needs while diversifying revenue streams and driving top line growth. It leads company's efforts to run our relationships with cobrand partners and expand our suite of consumer lending products bringing deep expertise to deliver products, services, and strategies that will enhance our competitive position in each of our markets globally.

How will you make an impact in this role?

This Senior Manager role will report to the Director, U.S. Consumer Acquisition Pricing. This position will be responsible for developing and innovating new strategies across acquisition decisions and work closely with key partners across different functions and across different levels of seniority.

The Senior Manager will also be responsible for crafting and implementing innovative acquisition pricing strategies for U.S. Consumer Cards to meet customer payment needs, enhance the customer experience, reduce operational complexity, improve compliance with applicable regulations, and support the company's financial roadmap

The responsibilities will include a mix of conceptualization, product development, and project management. Specific responsibilities include:
  • Innovate new strategies to improve Card Member acquisition decisions (E.g., investment allocation, Initial line, underwriting, and targeting)
  • Develop analytics to support prospect acquisition strategies
  • Run Senior level Steering Group that oversees acquisition decision engines
  • Present insights and recommendations to senior leaders to help shape strategy
  • Form effective linkages with business partners including Marketing, Risk, Enterprise Digital & Analytics, Finance
  • Lead cross functional team to execute Pricing changes in marketplace


Qualifications
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across different functional teams across different levels of seniority
  • Experience developing cost benefit analyses and strong understanding of net present value concepts and calculations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage large data sets to inform business decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High quality written and oral communication skills
  • Understanding of credit card economics and overall business model
  • Strong strategic thought leadership to identify business needs and drive towards solutions for those needs
  • Innovative thinker and creative problem-solver who is able and willing to challenge the status quo
  • Strong will-to-win, intellectual curiosity, drive to do what it takes to meet deadlines with a "can do" attitude
  • Graduate level education with analytical focus (e.g. Econometrics, Applied Statistics/Operations Research, Engineering, etc.)
  • Hands-on expertise using statistical analysis and data manipulation software/tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, and Big Data analytic techniques)


Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
