Corporate Onboarding is one of American Express' top enterprise initiatives and a core component is crafting seamless user experiences to serve a wide range of Corporate Client structures. The purpose of the Onboarding Capabilities team is to modernize the onboarding process globally by leading with a product mindset to develop robust capabilities that support the customer journey and scale the growing Corporate business. The Onboarding Capabilities team is a fast-paced & innovative team that partners with a cross functional set of stakeholders including Sales, Marketing, Risk, Product, Compliance and Tech partners across the globe to modernize the onboarding experience.
We are looking for a seasoned Product Manager to help steer the direction of modernizing corporate onboarding and to lead a team of enthusiastic product owners. We have a tremendous opportunity to reinvent and refocus the onboarding roadmap to support outstanding capabilities, define future state functionalities and much more to deliver fabulous and seamless experience for our customers and partners.
We are looking for a high-caliber individual who will be responsible for leading a team of product owners while driving the focus in the product roadmap across competing initiatives and timelines. This position is high visibility and intensely collaborative with product owners and managers, engineers, designers, and possibly external vendors to drive a strategic vision, prioritization, and a customer first mindset. A successful candidate will be focused, collaborative, strategic and able to articulate a product strategy into prioritization in a continuous delivery model.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of product owners across all capability types passionate about supporting their day to day and crafting their career growth
- Collaborate across multiple teams in high pressure situations to drive alignment, clarity, and support
- Define and manage the product strategy against competing priorities across teams with varying timelines
- Communicate clearly and candidly to senior leadership as the intersection point of multiple initiatives
- Support a culture of a customer first mindset by driving creative solutions, collaboration across multiple teams, and speaking up for the customer to bring scale to the global landscape
- Develop a healthy product pipeline of optimizations that build a wide impact and encourage speed to market
- Orchestrate the coordination of multiple project intersections to ensure the team has a clear focus without distraction
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 4+ years of digital product development experience
- Previous experience with basic UX/UI principles
- Understanding of Agile principles and experience working in Scrum
- Ability to work with and analyze sophisticated inputs, extracting key themes and messages to drive decisions
- Highly organized, detail oriented with a proven track record to manage multiple workflows
- Able to effectively adapt under changing conditions and prioritize initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Experience running discovery on sophisticated problems within matrixed organizations
- Strong relationship management and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Additional Skills/Qualifications:
- Driven, curious and diligent problem solver with a willingness to learn, challenge the status quo and collaborate to make an impact
- Experience with people management is a plus
- Previous experience in a compliance or regulatory environment
- Experience on a global team
- Experience in matrix organizations and cross-functional environments
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Rally, Adobe Omniture, Tableau, and Invision a strong plus
Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
