Senior Manager, Product Management

Job Description

As a Senior Manager, Product Management, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development lifecycle for our Core product, from formulating the next innovative idea to working directly with end users, designers, engineers and stakeholders to implement key feature enhancements. You will be expected to push the boundaries of what’s possible, while sharing our healthy obsession for quality and attention to detail.

You will manage, coach, and mentor a small team of 3-5 associates and product managers in this position while reporting to our Director, Product Management.

Responsibilities

• Identify, drive and own product development from existing feature enhancements to entirely new key milestones for the company
• Collect and translate business requirements into detailed technical documentation containing thorough acceptance criteria
• Lead cross-functional alignment to understand, develop, and prioritize product needs and requirements
• Effectively assess and manage trade-offs between cost/schedule versus business/client benefit
• Lead our internal framework of software & product development meetings while taking detailed notes with clearly defined action items and continually managing the product feedback lifecycle 
• Participate & facilitate in agile activities such as backlog grooming, feature prioritization and sprint planning
• Define and ensure user acceptance and testing criteria is captured and followed throughout the QA process
• Maintain a direct line of communication with power users
• Collaborate with support, operations and sales to understand existing friction points to develop a shared vision for the resident experience
• Create exciting release notes & how-to articles for internal teams and end users
• Work closely with product marketing and other commercial teams to help create effective go-to-market assets and communications
• Define, build and maintain user personas, journey maps and product roadmaps
• Assist our design team in the creation of product prototypes, wireframes and mockups
• Maintain internal training tools, user guides and knowledge base articles
• Mentor and develop more junior product managers to improve their knowledge, skills, and advancement opportunities

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related degree
• 6+ years of product management experience, mobile and web product experience required
• 2-5 years of people management experience and the proven ability to build and grow high-performing teams
• Demonstrated capabilities executing end-to-end quantitative and qualitative customer research and effectively identifying and interpreting key findings
• Highly analytical and diligent personality with ability to constantly solve problems and quickly plan out new features with meticulous attention to detail
• Able to quickly understand technical concepts and engineering trade-offs 
• Ability to understand customer needs, business goals and competitive pressures with the ability to define and convert those into technical documents
• Experience owning and defining a product roadmap and prioritizing features based on end user needs
• Proven capability to form tight partnerships with designers and engineers to solve both user experience as well as technical problems
• Successful track record of collaboration with key stakeholders
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Productboard, Miro, Amplitude, Gitlab, Github, Moqups, Zeplin, Sketch, Invision, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, XD
• Must be passionate about the business with a constant desire to learn more and improve the user experience!
