About the Role:
The Senior Manager of Product Marketing –will define, execute, and own both a sale assisted and the self-service go-to-market strategy from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have the skills to assess the market dynamics of low-touch, online marketplaces, understand the relevant personas, and augment a content-driven program that drives conversion. This role provides an opportunity to scale the both the sales assisted as well as the marketplace portion of the SmartBear business – and ultimately create new experiences for users looking to deliver marketplace excellence and quality. This role will be part of the product marketing and Open Source/Community/DevRel organization led by an SVP of Product Marketing.
Responsibilities:
Develop product positioning informed by user research, market insights, company brand, and product understanding – especially related to developer-specific features (Test Management, Software Development Lifecycle, APIs, SDKs, developer tools, etc.)
- Influence and guide the product roadmap by acting as the voice of sales, partners, channels, customer, and marketplace
- Partner closely with marketing, sales, and product leaders to set a vision
- Define a GTM strategy for driving conversion, product adoption, and growth
- Lead all product and marketplace-related launches
- Define the programs we need to succeed, including partner and developer marketing
- Drive all product and marketplace-related enablement for our sales and success teams.
- Work closely with all teams to create compelling stories featuring customers and partners
- Work closely with content and web teams to develop engaging assets, including our community experience
- Be the spokesperson for our platform and develop relationships with key individuals in the wider marketplace community
- Provide competitive intelligence
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience working in any of the following areas: software, test management, and marketplace related, low-touch GTM
- You love to think deeply about challenging problems and use research when applicable
- You can quickly gather business requirements and market needs to craft a successful go-to-market strategy
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Well-developed leadership and management skills, with the ability to excite others
- 7+ years of experience working in product marketing and/or platform product marketing, technical marketing, developer marketing, or equivalent
- You're able to build trust with the sales and partner organizations
