Job Description

ABOUT XP HEALTH:

XP Health recently raised $25 M Series A (and extension) to transform vision benefits for insurance carriers, companies, and employees. XP Health is a vision care company that has reinvented how members get eye exams and eyewear using technology and by creating a highly personalized experience, ultimately democratizing high-quality vision care for all. We are disrupting a $40B annual industry that has seen minimal innovation over the past 20 years and have expanded our reach to over 1,500 clients.

At XP Health, we are revolutionizing the optical industry by providing cutting-edge eyewear products and exceptional customer service. We believe that everyone deserves clear vision and stylish eyewear to express their unique personalities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Program Management to join our Strategy team. This role is integral to shaping XP Health's future and will be a key operator in driving innovation, growth, and performance.
This role will need to leverage a significant set of analytical skills, operational capability, and stakeholder management know-how to drive success while wearing many different hats. The ideal candidate has a resilient desire to over-perform and productively contribute, even when given frequently shifting contexts and priorities.
As a member of the Strategy function, you will have near limitless opportunities for learning and will build a unique ability to solve cross-functional business problems to deliver impact, working across the Sales, Marketing, Finance, Product, and Operations teams.

You will report directly to the SVP of Strategy. The company is based in San Carlos, CA and while remote arrangements will be considered, frequent travel to HQ is expected.

Key Responsibilities

Champion innovation within the organization
Encourage the exploration of new ideas, technologies, and methodologies that can enhance program outcomes. Support the case for investment and the build from 0-to-1
Drive the rollout of new features or products
Coordinate with product, marketing, sales, and operations to build launch strategies that align with strategic objectives and execute
Own complex customer implementations
Large, exciting customers often bring change. This person will own that change and see it through, optimizing for scalability and continuous improvement over time

  • Build/scale technical processes; turn band-aids into solutions
Managing a benefit results in a large amount of process debt, and technical tasks especially can fall through the cracks (e.g. delta analyses on e-files). This person will execute and eventually scale through technology or people to solve

Own and improve external partnerships
Work closely with external stakeholders (partners, vendors) to understand their needs, and drive XP Health initiatives to improve the overall program

What you’ll need

The proven ability to:

  • Learn quickly when facing new situations through structure and experimentation
  • Manage ambiguous problem states, dealing comfortably with the uncertainty of change and effectively handling risk
  • Plan and align to break down organizational priorities into appropriate initiatives and stage activities with milestones, schedules
  • Understand the customer, deeply, to gain insight and identify opportunities
  • Establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
  • Work cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives
  • Marshal resources and orchestrate activities to accomplish a goal with limited resources

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of strategy-esque experience or equivalent (any way to get to the above skills)
  • At least 1-2 years experience with program management, implementations, Chief of Staff, or similar types of roles
  • Must-have:
    • Experience with an early stage startup (Series B or before)
    • In-depth experience with MS suite or Google suite equivalent
    • SQL and data analytics experience
  • Nice-to-have: Healthcare experience

Location

  • Remote is okay but frequent travel to HQ (San Carlos, CA) is expected
