Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior QA Manager to help grow and guide our QA organization through a period of transformational change. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in QA principles, especially around automation, while also demonstrating outstanding people leadership skills. This individual will participate at a peer level with our other development leaders sharing in our joint mission to transform Alchemer’s platform to meet the needs and expectations of our ever-growing customer base.Â
How You Will Spend Your Days
- Provide excellent people leadership to our growing staff of manual and QA automation engineersÂ
- Coordinate with other stakeholders throughout the Technology organization to develop and execute on an overall quality strategyÂ
- Lead our Quality organization to transition from a heavily manual test environment into an automation-centric organization
- Help inject a quality mindset throughout the technology teamÂ
- Gather and disseminate relevant quality metrics, using them to drive continuous improvement within our development organizationÂ
What You Bring to This Role
- Bachelor’s or Master degree (preferred) in Computer Science or equivalent and 8+ years of related experience in software industry Â
- 5+ years of experience leading high-performing quality organizations using agile methodologies.Â
- Fanatical desire to break down silos and foster teamwork within cross functional product development squadsÂ
- Ability to provide mentorship, coaching, and career guidance for the members of our quality organizationÂ
- Experience writing test automation for the UI and/or API using JavaScript, Python, or another modern scripting languageÂ
- Excellent understanding of the entire SDLCÂ and an ability to identify and champion process improvements at each step of the processÂ
- A strong commitment to the DevOps mindset and an excellent understanding of the role that quality plays thereinÂ
- A passion for delivering well-written, high-quality, well-architected, and well-documented test automation. Willingness and ability to participate in technical designs and code reviews, both for our application and our automation, is very welcomeÂ
- Excellent communication skillsÂ
- Previous experience leading organizations through transitions to automated testing is a plusÂ
Compensation for this position includes an annual base salary of $150,000 to $165,000, and eligibility for an annual bonus and ability to participate in our Employee Participation Units Program.
