Senior Manager, R&D Platform

Job Summary:

Our company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lab Manager to lead our Battery Cell, BMS, and Pack Failure Analysis R&D Labs. The successful candidate will manage a team of engineers and technicians to develop and improve battery cell, battery pack, and BMS technology, as well as perform failure analysis. This is a critical role in our research and development efforts, and the Head of R&D Platform will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the lab's operations and implementing lean lab 5S principles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage daily laboratory operations for the Battery Cell, BMS, and Pack Failure Analysis R&D Labs.
• Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians in the Battery Cell, BMS, and Pack Failure Analysis R&D Labs.
• Develop and implement research projects and strategies to improve battery cell and BMS technology, as well as perform failure analysis on battery packs.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures and regulations, and implement safety measures as necessary.
• Implement and maintain lean lab 5S principles in the laboratory.
• Manage laboratory budgets and ensure resources are allocated effectively to maximize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance research and development projects.
• Develop and maintain laboratory protocols and ensure the accuracy and completeness of data generated in the lab.
• Analyze data and interpret results to draw conclusions and make recommendations for further research and development.
• Stay current with the latest developments in battery cell, BMS, and pack failure analysis technology and identify potential areas for research and development.
• Communicate research findings, progress, and challenges to upper management and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience managing a laboratory or research team, with a strong track record of research and development accomplishments.
• Proven experience in battery cell R&D, BMS R&D, and/or pack failure analysis, preferably with lithium-ion batteries.
• Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and regulations.
• Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation using statistical analysis tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and to build and maintain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience implementing lean lab 5S principles and continuous improvement methodologies in a laboratory setting.
