Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting

Position Overview

Outset Medical is seeking a Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting to join our team! We are seeking an experienced revenue accounting leader who will play a key role in leading revenue accounting, process improvements, systems implementations, and account receivables/sales tax activities within the revenue team.  To be successful in this role, you will be a hands-on proactive, solutions-oriented leader with a strong focus on driving process improvements, collaborating cross functionally and leveraging systems. You will have leadership qualities to successfully mentor, guide and develop the team in an evolving and continuous improvement environment.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

• Develop a vision and long-term plan for how we can continue to drive highest level of quality financial reporting within revenue accounting as we grow and expand our operations
• Develop and maintain Company revenue accounting practices in accordance with ASC 606 and related policies in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Continuously evaluate and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of revenue accounting processes and systems/tool related to invoicing creation, revenue, receivables, sales tax and collections. 
• Lead the evaluation of our current revenue accounting systems and the assessment of new potential software decisions.  
• Lead the implementation of the selected tool and act as revenue team subject matter expert.
• Strive to automate processes within and outside the revenue team, utilize platforms such as EDI and GHX as needed.
• Maintain sales tax calculation system, ensure product classifications are accurately captured.
• Ensure timely execution and review of month-end and quarter-end close activities (including, but not limited to: account reconciliation, analysis, and reporting).
• Partner with teams cross functionally in the roll out of new products and process
• Work effectively with the Services team, Customer Service team, and IT to ensure process improvement.
• Proactively assist with new Corporate initiatives/projects, providing expertise and business process acumen.
• Although this position is remote, it will be necessary to work Pacific Time hours.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in business related field
• 12+ years in revenue operations experience including 5+ years of leadership experience
• Certified Public Accountant is preferred
• Background in Big 4 public accounting is strongly desired
• Proficient in systems, QAD EE, RevPro, GHX/EDI, Avalara, SFDC experience is a plus
• Proficient understanding of general accounting principles, financial statements, ASC 606, ASC 326, ASC 842 and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements

• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of internal and external management through various methods of communication. 
• Excellent quantitative, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• High Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point
• Knowledge and proficiency in using credit agency reports such as D&B
