Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting is responsible for all aspects of revenue accounting, including performing all applicable gross-to-net calculations and estimates. The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting will have a strong understanding of ASC 606 and will work with the Company’s external 3PL on the order-to-cash process. The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting will play a vital role in collaborating with external auditors to ensure all revenue recognition and gross to net methodologies are understood and accepted.  The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting will also be responsible for overseeing the AR collection efforts of the Company’s external 3PL. The Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting may also be required to assist the Controller and the Accounting Team in other month-end closing responsibilities as required.

Specific Duties: 

• Responsible for implementing a revenue recognition system for the Company’s products under ASC 606.
• Calculating necessary gross-to-net accruals and adjustments, including working with both internal and external stakeholders (such as market access) to support the methodologies utilized in these estimates.
• Analyze various data streams, including specialty pharmacy data, product and competitor claims data, etc., to support gross-to-net analysis.
• Collaborate with external 3PL to review accounts receivable aging and customer payment status.
• Investigate open credit memos as needed.
• On a monthly basis, journalize the necessary revenue entries with appropriate documentation.
• Collaborating with the external auditors to ensure a smooth and timely audit process.
• Perform a feasibility analysis on integrating external 3PL data into the Company’s ERP system.
• Assist the Controller with other ad-hoc projects as needed.

 Skills:

• Ability to partner with all levels of the organization, including senior leaders.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion, including under time pressure.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, in particular ASC 606.
• Strong understanding of internal controls in a SOX environment.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbally.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain detailed records.
• Intermediate to advanced ability in Microsoft Excel.

Education/Experience: 

• 4-6 years of work experience required.
• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably with a major in Accounting, Economics, or Finance.
• Masters/MBA, CPA/CMA or other financial certification preferred.
• NetSuite system experience preferred.
• Life Science industry required. Gross-to-net revenue accounting required.
