Your Impact:
Handshake is hiring a Senior Manager of SMB Sales reporting to the VP of Sales on the Employer Team. As the company continues to scale, this role will establish and own a brand new sales segment to drive growth across the business.
Your Role:
- Build Handshake’s 1st-ever SMB sales team to widen our market share and sell to the long-tail of SMB companies, including thousands of existing free users of our product. Our SMB leader will collaborate with peers leading the Mid-Market & Enterprise sales teams and is expected to bring fresh ideas and insights to the leadership table to up-level the sales organization as a whole.
- Manage, build, coach and develop a growing team of SMB Account Executives
- Manage daily and weekly activities, pipelines, forecasts and closed deals to ensure above-quota results based on successful pipeline management
- Coordinate and manage weekly one-on-one and team-wide pipeline reviews, team meetings, and training sessions to ensure ongoing improvement and best practice sharing
- Collaborate closely across the extended Handshake Employer Business, including Revenue Operations, Marketing and Sales Development, to develop sales strategies and analyze and improve sales performance
- Partner with the SDR and marketing leadership team to increase lead flow and drive stronger pipeline conversion rates
- Help optimize thresholds for Mid-Market, SMB and self-serve customer segmentation based on historical data and future business goals
Your Experience:
- 3+ years of SaaS sales management experience for AEs closing net new business
- 8+ years of relevant on-quota B2B SaaS sales experience, at least 3 years of which being in a management capacity for AEs closing net new business
- Relevant on-quota B2B SaaS sales experience leading SMB or Mid-Market SaaS AEs
- Experience developing and implementing sales plans and strategies, and monitoring and analyzing sales performance
- A strong track record of over-performance and forecasting accuracy
- The capacity to innovate, build new programs and processes, and improve business performance to drive better outcomes
- A successful history of leading teams to build pipeline, close business and exceed individual quotas and team quotas consistently
- Demonstrated ability to develop sales talent through sales coaching, mentorship and career development
- The ability to work in a rapidly expanding, fast-paced startup environment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Savvy user of CRM (ideally Salesforce) and ability to build custom reports and command of sales metrics and performance data
Bonus Areas of Expertise:
- Experience building an SMB segment from 0 to 1 (i.e. launching from scratch)
- Experience in both a startup environment (
- Experience selling into talent acquisition of HR leaders
- Experience leading Account Executives for multiple segments, including SMB & Mid-Market.
- Experience leading SDR teams and AE teams
Compensation:
- $240,000 - $270,000 OTE
For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
