Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for an action-oriented Senior Manager to manage our Web Application Development team as a part of the Data Analytics & Digital Integration (DA&DI) organization.
As the senior manager, you will lead the team responsible for the development and support of several digital tools including the Integrated Champion Environment (ICE). These digital tools are responsible for providing analytics reports that support the entire BDS value stream for production operations. These internal-to-Boeing web applications envelopes internal fabrication, external supply chain, quality, and manufacturing functions. The development of new capabilities within these tools is a key responsibility of this role.
You will be diving "down-and-in" with the team to solve technical problems as well as understand the foundational impact of major technical decisions as we continue to evolve our data architecture. In addition, you'll support "up-and-out" partnering with other senior leaders across organizations to ensure we are focused on the right things for the business. The team operates in an agile framework to meet our customer commitments with the highest quality, so bringing in agile experience and expertise is a key component to success.
You will also be responsible for building and executing a strategy to support the migration of our digital tools from our existing data warehouse to a full value-stream data lakehouse. Ensuring we have a thoughtful approach to executing today, while transitioning to the future state. You will be partnering across the DA&DI and IT teams to support this data lakehouse to ensure that it can be utilized as the primary source of machine learning capabilities.
Position Responsibilities:

• Drives the design, development, and deployment of customer-facing products and services (specifically for supporting BDS Production)
• Develops and maintains relationships with key leaders in Manufacturing and other business functions to define and execute the long-term strategy and near-term roadmap for the Defense Business Unit
• Manages team members supporting software development
• Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
• Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
• Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
• Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes
• Leads and supports creation of technology strategy for the assigned portfolio including architectural definitions that are in alignment with portfolio requirement and growth strategy
• Understands the larger business climate within the group, our customers, and our industry and successfully translates that to our team members for understanding and action
• Empowers and drives team accountability to make decisions and supports the team in raising awareness of dependencies and issues
• Promotes best practices that enable the development of high quality software
• Promotes best practices that enable rapid application development
• Promotes best practices in agile software development

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 3+ years of experience with web application development, management and/or maintenance including requirements management
• 3+ years of experience leading projects in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team including designers, engineers, writers, product managers and software developers
• 3+ years of experience with Object Oriented Design and Programming in a high-level language like C#, .NET, Java, SQL, HTML, and CSS
• 2+ years of experience with Agile software development
• 1+ years of experience with Data Engineering technologies (Teradata, Big Data, Data lake)
• 1+ years of experience handling data and systems involving machine learning/predictive analytics
• 1+ years of experience with machine learning

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Summary pay range: $141,100 - $218,500
