Job Description

The Senior Manager, Software Development, is an integral leader, driving the strategy to achieve business goals. This role is responsible for establishing goals and executing necessary functions for software development delivery, enabling Deluxe product platforms, ensuring software quality and security practices are followed, delivering high quality, finished products. Building and leading both onshore and offshore development and delivery functions and roles.

  • Represents the department and serves in a leadership capacity for multiple cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams in product development. Responsible for oversight and implementation of schedules as well as overall management of assigned teams.
  • In collaboration with business stakeholders, manages team to road maps, which includes development direction. Ensures development meets or exceeds requirements, as well as works in concert with leaders to manage project budgets.
  • Provides management oversight in the execution of deliverables throughout the core software project lifecycles, ensuring delivery of quality in line with required schedules - meeting defined product solution success criteria. Responsible for multiple types of reporting around sprints, performance & delivery assurance.
  • Reviews, assesses, and recommends technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities and software development methodology. Identifies risk, engages appropriate management and resources to unblock project issues.
  • Provides leadership, motivates, and mentors staff to achieve optimal performance levels and to foster learning and development culture. Creates a culture of collaboration, innovation and learning among team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field and 5 years of progressive experience in computer science or related field

    or HS/GED and 9 years of related experience
  • Experience managing project budgets
  • Solid knowledge/experience of agile development methodology
  • Project experience in software, web applications, SaaS environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science or related field
  • 5 years of progressive experience in computer science or related field
  • 3 years progressive leadership experience
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated, and highly organized with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a blend of technical and creative skills, the ability to think, react, learn, and act quickly, and demonstrated ability to deliver results
