The Senior Manager, Engineering, is an integral leader responsible for delivering on the technology strategy to achieve business goals. This role is responsible for owning a well-established payments product driving adherence to Deluxe best practices and partner collaboration to execute on the necessary functions for software development and implementation, enabling Deluxe product platforms and infrastructure, ensuring software quality and security practices are followed, maximizing speed to delivery through test automation and CI/CD pipelines all resulting in delivering high quality, finished products. This role will need to effectively build and lead cross-functional teams comprised of development and delivery functions whether contributors are onshore, offshore, fully remote, and blended hybrid.
- Represents the department and serves in a leadership capacity for multiple cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams in product development.
- In collaboration with business stakeholders, manage the team to approved product roadmaps. Ensures development meets or exceeds requirements while delivering within the approved budgets.
- Provides management oversight in the execution of deliverables throughout the core software project lifecycles, ensuring delivery of quality in line with required schedules - meeting defined product solution success criteria. Responsible for multiple types of reporting around sprints, performance & delivery assurance.
- Reviews, assesses, and recommends technology trends such as emerging standards for new technology opportunities and software development methodology. Identifies risk, engages appropriate management and resources to unblock project issues.
- Provides leadership, motivates, and mentors staff to achieve optimal performance levels and to foster learning and development culture. Creates a culture of collaboration, innovation and learning among team members.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field and 5 years of progressive experience in computer science or related field
or HS/GED and 9 years of related experience
PreferredQualifications:
- Master's degree in computer science or related field
- 5 years of progressive experience in computer science or related field
- 3 years progressive leadership experience
- Experience in the financial technology industry
- Familiarity with managing financial budgets and forecasting, both delivery and expense
