Senior Manager, Software Development

As a Senior Manager of Software Development, you’ll provide technical leadership to aid in the professional growth and development of our engineers. You’ll play an integral role in helping your group succeed in making our department as productive as it can! Expect to spend around half of your time managing direct reports, and the rest as a developer (technical design, writing code, code reviews, etc.) and/or in team leadership positions (product management or coaching). This position will be specifically internally focused -- with strong customer implications -- responsible for the core services and deployment infrastructure on which the Appian platform runs. To be successful in this role, you need:

• You’re passionate about making developers more productive, and creating an ideal development environment

• You spend your time identifying and building new tools and technologies to solve inefficiencies with developing complex code at scale

• You are experienced with all things testing, developing and fine tuning builds and pipelines, being a force multiplier within your organization

• You have experience in a CI/CD environment in AWS or continuous integration systems, like Jenkins

• You want to work closely with your customers and delight your colleagues

Basic qualifications:

• B.S. in Computer Science or related field, advanced degree preferred

• 8+ years in software development, with 2+ years as an manager
