Senior Manager - Software Development

Location: United States - Remote

This is a remote position, so you’ll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or offsites.

GoDaddy’s Global Security Products (GSP) is seeking a passionate and technically curious leader with a strong sense of ownership and a commitment to fostering the growth of others. As the leader of a diverse team of dedicated engineers, you will drive the development of the next generation of our security products. We are looking for a data-driven, outcomes-oriented seasoned engineering manager who can innovate in a complex and challenging environment, enhancing engineering practices and driving business growth for our organization.

What you'll get to do…

• Lead a team of 5-15 engineers, providing mentorship, technical vision, and fostering a supportive, autonomous environment.
• Coordinate with partner teams to deliver experiences that result in positive outcomes for our customers and their customers.
• Drive architecture and design reviews, lead development patterns, and ensure robust, resilient systems.
• Partner with Product Management to understand requirements, refine the backlog, and make trade-offs.
• Launch experiments, measure customer impact, and make data-driven decisions.
• Build valuable company connections and ensure your team’s directional alignment with GoDaddy.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach and create a healthy, productive work environment for engineers.
• Stay in communication with team in Slack and Zoom.

Your experience should include…

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with modern tech stacks such as Golang, Java, Python, .Net, PHP, Ruby or equivalent.
• Experience with Web application Firewalls, Content delivery networks, malware scanning, monitoring, or equivalent web security products.
• Experience managing, leading, teaching, growing, and mentoring engineers.
• Proven experience designing, building, and shipping systems to cloud (AWS) or on-prem applications with multiple tiers, including API, caching, async event processing, relational/non-relational databases.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure and technology, including standard processes and appropriate applications of these technologies.
• Strong understanding of modern web applications, services and technologies.
• Solid architecture skills, particularly related to web systems, cloud infrastructures, and distributed systems.
• Experience delivering in an Agile software development environment and applying continuous improvement principles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple business priorities, while delivering high-quality results.
