Senior Manager Software Engineer in Test

Bungie is seeking a Senior SDET Lead to direct the efforts of all SDETs on Destiny.  In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing test automation and workflow improvements; ensuring these have a force multiplier effect on our development.  You will also help us improve our overall test approach by partnering with Engineering and Test Leaders to evolve our strategy.  If you are passionate about empowering our studio of developers who work everyday to bring together millions of players, this might be the role for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and manage a team of SDETs delivering test automation and workflow improvements
• Work with Test Leads to better integrate SDETs within a large manual QA org
• Partner with Engineering Leads to drive the transformation of a legacy code base to be more automatable/sustainable
• Collaborate with SDET Leads to solve common pain points that impact multiple projects
• Set schedule / priorities, drive team to maximize impact
• Recruit and develop new SDETs

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Demonstrated ability as a people manager and project leader
• Experience building strategy for a large project (incl. goals, staffing, etc.)
• Familiarity with wide array of testing technologies
• Demonstrated knowledge of both black-box and white-box testing techniques
• Ability to explain differing test approaches to Engineers / Testers; pushing to shift left where possible
• Knowledge of core programming principles
• Ability to communicate with customers of differing backgrounds (technical and non-technical)

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Experience in game development
• Experience developing metrics to quantify impact
