Description: The Senior Manager, Software Engineering, will lead the architecture, design, and development of Zuora Billing, a cutting edge, large scalable and enterprise SaaS application. The

candidate must be able to understand the needs of Zuora customers and the market to build Zuora software products that are intuitive and easy to use. The Senior Manager, Software

Engineering, must also advocate for best engineering practices and code quality. This position will directly supervise five to eight Software Engineers. More specific job duties are as

follows:

-Lead the architecture and software design of Zuora Billing application for scale.

-Work with product management and other engineering teams to design, build, and operate Zuora’s next generation Billing product.

-Design and develop applications that are highly scalable.

-Design and implement customer facing APIs that enable integration and customization.

-Understand the platform needs of other functional areas, and provide design and development assistance as required.

-Advocate for developing high quality software and promote best practices for producing reliable, maintainable, and fault tolerant software.

-Build and manage a highly talented software engineering team.

Education / Experience Requirements: Master's in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field plus six years post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in a similar occupation or as a Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, IT Professional or related occupation. Special Requirements:  

-At least 2 years of experience in leading and managing a team of 4+ software engineers working on front-end or back-end software

-6 years of experience with large scale distributed system design including designing and developing client/server architectures and application architectures.

-6 years of experience building scalable enterprise and consumer SaaS applications.

-6 years of experience with the programming languages Java, Javascript, CSS, HTML, SQL.

-6 years of experience with public cloud-hosted deployments including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Elastic Container Services (ECS), Docker, Kubernetes.

-6 years of experience with database technologies including MySQL, Postgres.

-6 years of experience with caching technologies including Redis.

Travel required approximately twice per year to visit international Zuora offices.

Salary: $274,206-300,000/yr
