About the role:

The Senior Manager of Strategic Business Development is focused on accelerating growth opportunities for Samsung Next portfolio companies in the AI, Infrastructure and Healthtech sectors. This is a unique opportunity to join a strong team of operators working closely with early stage portfolio companies helping to build sector ecosystems for strategic business development.

This position reports to the Head of Strategic Business Development - Samsung Next Platform team.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager of Strategic Business Development will be responsible for business development support of Samsung Next portfolio companies in the AI, Infrastructure (CloudOps/DevOps, Cybersecurity, Edge Compute), and Healthtech sectors, including by: 

• Developing an engagement strategy for each sector (or across sectors)
• Building sector-focused communities including ecosystems of builders (open source developers, data scientists, ML engineers, etc.) 
• Leveraging personal and Samsung relationships for:
• Company-to-company introductions among Samsung Next portfolio companies
• Internal opportunities within Samsung
• External introductions to Partner Network and the broader ecosystem
• Collaborating with the Head of Strategic BD to leverage the Samsung Next Partner Network to scale strategic business development opportunities for portfolio companies including but not limited to:
• Greater engagement strategies specific to sector areas
• Deeper penetration into functional teams & decision-makers within sector areas
• Deployment of events, showcases, demo days, trade shows within sectors
• Generate sector-specific insights used for company-wide consultation to Samsung leadership

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant developer relations including 
• DevX expertise across technology and culture 
• Understanding of the DevOps and Enterprise IT landscape 
• Passion for cutting edge technologies and open source 
• Strong network within developers and Enterprise IT communities
• Background in AI / Compute Infrastructure and a history of engaging in cloud native or artificial intelligence space (MLOps/DevOps communities and/or Kubernetes/Tensorflow/Pytorch).  
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Excitement about representing Samsung Next and our portfolio companies to broader audiences
• Self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving startup environment managing multiple engagements
• Computer Science or other engineering degree very strongly preferred
