To help us achieve our goal, we are seeking a Senior Manager, Strategic Pricing eager to make an impact within a mission-driven organization.Â
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Manager, Strategic Pricing is responsible for defining, constructing, and driving pricing strategies for clinical studies and other projects conducted by Science 37 on behalf of its clients. The Senior Manager, Strategic Pricing also helps to facilitate the internal alignment of the Accounting & Finance, Operations and Commercial teams on pricing strategies and budgets, including but not limited to pricing, payment terms, and other terms as needed related to billable projects. The individual also ensures that all pricing tools and templates accurately reflect the relevant operational and commercial elements.Â
The Senior Manager, Strategic Pricing works closely with the Commercial team in the preparation, presentation, defense, and execution of proposals and budgets to clients. In some cases, the role requires negotiating directly with customers along with the Commercial team to articulate our value proposition and our positions on terms.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to:Â
- Independently Works with key team members, departmental heads, and executives to ensure high quality clinical trial proposals are successfully budgeted, risk managed, and submitted in a timely manner
- Acts as a mentor and may manage junior staff members and/or contractors on the pricing team
- Utilizes knowledge of clinical research and the biopharmaceutical industry to understand and interpret budget requirements and key value drivers from RFPs and other Customer information; attends Strategy Meetings as required
- Prepares and presents pricing proposals for future projects to the Executive team and other management team members
- Prioritizes workload as an individual and for direct reports, ensuring team deliverables are sent in a timely manner
- Identifies and communicates potential financial risks at the project level related to payments, cash flow, project execution or profitability, developing mitigation approaches where applicable
- Identifying and implementing improvements to tools and processes in order to enhance accuracy and efficiency, working with key stakeholders from across the company; Ensure pricing is presented in a manner that is understandable and that highlights the value of our solutions
- Ensures that the pricing and terms being proposed are aligned with corporate financial targets and guidance, escalating any requests for deviations as required and recommending alternate pricing structures to address specific customer requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
QualificationsÂ
The following qualifications are preferred and/or equivalent applicable experience:
- Bachelor’s degree; Finance or similar concentration; MBA Preferred
- 7+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical space, with at least 3 years Pricing or Procurement role with a CRO, biopharmaceutical company or company that provides technology or services to the industry
- Extensive knowledge of clinical trial proposals, budgets, and their execution
- Experience in the development and implementation of clinical trials; background knowledge of regulations applicable to human subjects’ research
- Experience in the presentation, defense, and negotiation of budgets and proposals to clients
- Advanced MS Excel or Google Sheets Skills; Experience with CRM Systems and/or Analytics software preferred
- Strong and effective communicator; strong negotiation and influence skills; sharp business acumen.
- Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
- Ability to travel out of state as needed.
