Provides an independent assessment of all aspects of the US capital stress testing framework, including risk identification, scenario creation, forecasting methodologies, process execution, and governance. Develops and maintains a framework that provides increase transparency, accuracy and consistency across the stress testing process. Work with stakeholders to identify improvements as well as monitoring, timely reporting and identification of action plans.
- Critically challenges the US Stress testing process to identify areas for improvement.
- Critically challenges stress testing forecasts to assess appropriateness of risk impacts.
- Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the stress testing process.
- Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
- May network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
- Leads the management of governance meetings and maintenance of governing body mandates, oversight and approval guidelines
- Assists with the interpretation of new or changing regulations and assessing impacts to capital.
- Initiates and facilitates productive forums, where stakeholders can discuss, debate, and decide on key risk concerns.
- Maintains tools and templates for independent review as required
- Monitors and tracks performance; addresses any issues.
- Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
- Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
- Qualifications:
- Typically 5+ years of experience with the US Capital Stress Testing process, including any of model development and execution, model validation/governance, or capital stress testing program participation or governance
- Ability to evaluate quantitative model outputs and provide in-depth analysis
- In depth / Expert knowledge of risk management, audit, compliance, governance practices.
- In-depth / Expert knowledge of business and US capital regulation and understanding of risk issues / trends and best practices.
- Knowledge of banking products, including credit and non-credit experience, economics and financial markets.
- In-depth / Expert communication and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with effective planning and organizing skills.
- Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.

Compensation and Benefits:
$100,000.00 - $185,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
