Role Overview:

As the Senior Manager, Sustainability & ESG, you will serve as a subject matter expert internally and externally. You will help AMN Healthcare operationalize and deliver on our ESG and Sustainability strategy and commitments.

Measurement helps drive continuous improvement (one of our Core Values), and for ESG and Sustainability it is key to proving and improving impact. In collaboration with colleagues across the enterprise, you will collect and analyze data to help measure our progress against our ESG Commitments and our material ESG topics. help refine existing and identify new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Reporting to the Director, Sustainability & Social Impact, you will be at the forefront of our efforts to drive impact inside and outside of the company.

Responsibilities:

• Data Collection and Analysis: Oversee the collection, normalization, verification, analysis, and interpretation of ESG-related data from various sources, providing actionable insights to enhance our sustainability efforts.
• ESG Reporting & Disclosures: Partner to create accurate and compelling ESG disclosures for internal and external stakeholders. Including annual ESG Report, TCFD report, SASB and GRI disclosures, CDP submission, and updates for executives, the Board of Directors, clients, and investors. Respond to ESG-related inquiries from clients, vendors, and ratings agencies. Drive submissions for ESG rankings and awards.
• KPI Management: Evolve KPIs to track progress towards ESG goals and commitments. Regularly review and report on performance to relevant stakeholders. Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of ESG programs, seeking innovative solutions to enhance impact.
• ESG Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a resource and subject matter expert on a range of ESG topics, e.g., climate impact, healthcare workforce sustainability, ESG reporting, etc. Expertise can be more developed in one area than others.
• Drive Supplier Sustainability: Collaborate with supply chain teams to assess and improve the sustainability performance of suppliers and vendors. Encourage the adoption of sustainable practices throughout the supply chain.
• Education: Partner to develop and provide training and awareness programs to educate team members about sustainability principles and their roles in contributing to the organization's sustainability objectives.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, clients, suppliers and vendors, and other external partners to promote awareness of our ESG initiatives, foster a culture of sustainability, and drive shared value. E.g., help develop a "Sustainability Blueprint" that we can share to catalyze sustainability in our industry.
• Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant ESG and sustainability regulations and reporting requirements.
• Risk Assessment: Support ESG risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies for improved risk management.

Experience:

• Background in ESG goal setting, data gathering, data analytics, KPI management, and performance reporting.
• Proven experience (5+ years) in ESG or Sustainability management, with a track record of success in developing and implementing sustainability programs, inside a matrixed company and/or at an ESG or Sustainability consultancy.
• Experience developing ESG and sustainability reports, and with reporting frameworks (including GRI, SASB, TCFD, ISSB, CDP, SBTi, etc.) and ratings agencies (ISS, MSCI, Sustainalytics, GL, etc.)
• Leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.

Knowledge:

• ESG expertise across many of these topics preferred, with deep expertise in at least one:
  • Environmental - Measuring GHGe footprints (scope 1, 2, and 3), setting and achieving Science-Based Targets, zero waste, watershed impacts, etc.
  • Social - access to health, healthcare affordability, health equity, DEI (internal and external), healthcare workforce sustainability, etc.
  • ESG Governance - Board engagement in ESG, materiality assessments, corporate sustainability risks for public companies, etc.
  • Ever-evolving Sustainability Mindsets - context-based sustainability, thresholds and allocations, carrying capacities, Net Zero, Future Fitness, etc.
• Education: Ideally, a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Health, Healthcare, Business, Data analytics, or a related field (or commensurate professional experience in a related field). Advanced degree in similar fields or relevant certifications preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, proficiency in MS PowerPoint and MS Word (experience with data visualization software, e.g., Tableau is a bonus).

Pay Rate

$117,500 - $139,500 Salary

Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
