Senior Manager, Technical Data Steward

Role Overview:

McAfee’s Enterprise Analytics team is searching for a seasoned, analytical leader to drive our enterprise data management strategy as the Senior Manager, Technical Data Steward. In this role, you will oversee a team dedicated to transforming business needs into actionable technical requirements and managing logical data models. Collaborating closely with our ingestion and curation teams, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring data alignment, accessibility, and quality across the enterprise.
This is a remote position based in Canada. We will only consider candidates in Canada and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.

About the role: 

• Lead the Enterprise Data Stewardship team, providing strategic guidance, mentorship, and leadership. 
• Collaborate with business leaders to define requirements and priorities and to proactively understand and update metric logic and definition. 
• Serve as the point of escalation for changes to the structure, definition(s), and security of identified data objects​ and for Data Quality teams when defined processes are insufficient to resolve issues.​ 
• Oversee technical requirements (e.g., aggregation level, granularity) based on metrics established by business teams. 
• Own and manage logical data model for the Enterprise Analytics team in tandem with ingestion and curation leads. 
• Oversee data catalog entries and enforce data cataloging rules. 
• Manage access controls for end data products. 

About you:

• Have led small, high-performing teams, preferably in software engineering, data engineering, or data program management 
• Bring 8+ years of experience in data engineering or data engineering program management.
• Experience with and understanding of the following: SQL; Python; Databricks (or other cloud data management platform); technical and business data cataloging; logical data modeling, including experience designing logical data models; and ETL/ELT tools such as Apache Airflow.
• Bring proven experience in data management, requirements management, and metadata management.
