As Marqeta’s Senior Manager, Technology Audit, you will join the Internal Audit team to lead technology audit engagements including examination of the automated and general SOX controls within Marqeta’s technology infrastructure. The Senior Manager, Technology Audit will be a technology controls subject matter expert and will collect and evaluate evidence of Marqeta’s information systems, practices, and operations. The evaluation will result in the development of opinions as to whether information systems are safeguarding assets, maintaining data integrity, and operating effectively to achieve the organization's goals or objectives. This includes but is not limited to security protocols, systems development processes, IT governance and management oversight.Â

What You’ll Do
- Lead the Technology Audit Function as a subject matter expert in terms of annual audit planning, coordinate technology testing across the organization, and execute other essential technology audit strategies;Â
- Perform the annual risk assessment, review the technology audit universe, and develop the related technology audit plan;
- Direct and guide the technology audit team to maintain departmental standards and quality of audit projects by: (a) reviewing and approving audit programs and time budgets, (b) implementing policies and establishing procedures covering the scope of audits, (c) reviewing and evaluating work papers of completed projects to be certain that adequate documentation has been gathered and that the work papers document and provide an adequate basis for reporting, and (d) reviewing draft audit reports in connection with work papers to assure full and complete reporting in a professional manner;
- Communicate findings with management in a timely manner, obtaining agreement of the root cause of issues and commitment to implement recommendations through management action plans. Ensure timely follow-up and review of the status of outstanding internal audit findings, and related dispositions upon closure of findings;
- Provide value-added recommendations to management to improve the control environment, increase operational effectiveness, or improve the quality of products and services provided by the Company;
- Develop a relationship with technology management, assisting them with the identification, testing, and mitigation of risks specific to their environment;
- Coordinate with external auditors and independent consultants in performing technology audits.
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of professional IT audit/security compliance experience (Big 4, public company, Payment Processors, Regulatory, and/or bank audit experience.)
- Proven leadership success in organizations of comparable complexity.
- Payments Card Industry (PCI), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), SOX, and/or Internal Control experience.
- A demonstrated understanding of complex financial and information systems (i.e. payment processing system, complex customer databases, SQL, virtualization, cloud, etc.) and processes, and the ability to apply that knowledge in conducting and managing technology audits.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of networks, data security, business processes, complex systems, finance and IT general control areas, internal audit standards, COSO, COBIT, NIST, and FFIEC examination guidelines.
- Desire to work in fast-paced, regulated environment.Â
Nice-To-Haves
- BS in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related fields.
- Strong executive presence and excellent communication skills (written and oral). Ability to provide guidance to audit teams and Senior IT Management on technology audit and control issues.

Compensation and Benefits
Marqeta is a Flex First company which allows you to choose your best working environment, whether that be from home or at a company office. To support Flex First, we calibrate pay to a competitive value according to working location. Compensation is aligned according to three tiers within the United States:
- National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.
- Premium: Slightly elevated from the National tier, and oriented toward a narrower set of higher cost-of-living areas, such as Los Angeles CA and Seattle WA
- Premium Plus: A tier for the most expensive working areas, like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:
- National: $124,650 - $166,200
- Premium:Â $140, 250 - $187,000
- Premium Plus: $155,850 -$207,800
