We’re looking for a Senior Manager of Workplace, who will lead the strategic and tactical operations of our office environments in the 4 World Trade Center while also helping us to scale our Food & Beverage program across our global workplaces.

You Will...

  • Lead all aspects of office operations for our fast-growing office which will be spread across two floors. Take ownership of the day-to-day physical operations of this space, delivering high-quality workplace experiences for employees and visitors that reflect Duolingo’s values and a high level of hospitality. Lead local vendor teams while collaborating cross-functionally with Duos to ensure outstanding service that goes above and beyond for a collaborative, fast-growing tech company.
  • Lead office initiatives and projects while helping to wrap up our major tenant improvement project on-site as we plan to fully occupy and operate our space at the beginning of September. Collaborate with our current Workplace Manager as well as Site Leads and Design Studio teams on effective office move comms and strategy.
  • Scale Food service operations as we craft our evolving strategy for our global program which currently includes full lunch service Mon - Fri, breakfast Tues - Thurs, and a robust snacks and beverage program. We are seeking someone with a creative flair for product showcasing and the us of local-owned businesses who also has the chops to streamline our costs. Our food program is a significant aspect of our in-person culture on behalf of our Duolingo founders & leaders.
  • Directly lead a diverse mix of local third party providers such as food services, security, and janitorial. Establish and maintain positive relationships with these providers to ensure their efficiency and engagement for Duolingo. Identify staffing gaps or opportunities needed to meet our future workplace goals.
  • Own workplace experience strategy as a champion of Duolingo’s employee workplace experience, bringing thought leadership to the challenges we face and innovative solutions that fit with our company culture. Help us craft Duolingo’s roadmap for global workplace experience.

You Have…

  • 7+ years of multifaceted experience leading outstanding, modern office environments with demonstrated success in improving the employee experience.
  • Strength leading teams - you extract great outcomes from people who like to work with you.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying, partnering with, and leading Food Service providers with innovation and efficiency.
  • Ability to scope and complete projects and uplift processes, including those that are new, nebulous, and constantly iterating.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills which engage diverse audiences, from external providers to global employees, from senior leaders to day porter staff.
  • Collaboration and resilience to drive iterative, cross-functional change in a high-growth environment.
  • Foresight to strategize the future of our workplace footprint with design solutions to scale.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to work full-time from or relocate to New York City, NY, and work in our office five days per week.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to our other global office locations.

We post a multi-level salary range for all of our roles.

This is not inclusive of the rest of our awesome portfolio that includes equity compensation and world-class benefits. Our salary ranges are the same for all US locations. Your recruiter can share more details about the range for a specific level during the hiring process. The actual salary within the range is determined by many factors including but not limited to, skills, experience, education, and internal equity.

Salary Range:

$80,900—$175,200 USD
