The opportunity
The Senior Managing Editor serves as the leader for a team covering network and cloud security verticals, and is also charged with the development and management of team personnel. As the team's senior editorial leader, you’ll be responsible for ensuring all published copy aligns with the site's audience, mission, and vision.
This is a highly collaborative role. As Senior Managing Editor, you’ll partner with a team of staff writers and freelancers as well as an SEO specialist and business development representatives to ensure your topic is covered appropriately on TechnologyAdvice. You’ll also coordinate with several internal departments to ensure the entire site is publishing consistently, including our sales team for client-facing opportunities, our content operations team to maintain healthy production workflows, and our creative team to develop graphics and video to support multimedia content creation.Â
What you'll do
- Bring a great depth of knowledge and experience of enterprise cybersecurity, including software, products, trends, and evolutions
- Manage a team of 4+ writers ranging in experience from junior to senior level, including consistent 1:1s, feedback, and mentorship
- Expertly engage and communicate in vendor/client-facing environmentsÂ
- Effectively communicate and collaborate with a dedicated SEO analyst and a dedicated monetization leader
- Effectively project manage monthly and quarterly calendar planning
- Timely and consistent delivery on editorial and production KPIs and monthly/quarterly goals
- Continually strategize around content creation, planning, and publishing with a vision toward ongoing improvement
- Conduct quality reviews on content
- Edit and update content as needed
Who you are
- Agile professional who excels in a fast-paced environment and thrives on continuously pivoting strategies to drive business needs forward
- Minimum of 5 years in an editorial leadership role, including management of staff writers and freelancers
- Minimum of 8 years in the publishing industry with a focus on cybersecurity
- Comprehensive understanding of editorial strategy for B2B technology coverage
- Demonstrable organizational and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comprehensive understanding of WordPress publishing
- Working knowledge of SEO and Revenue best practices preferred
- Cybersecurity certifications a plus
