We have an opportunity for a remote Senior Market Intelligence Analyst with our Strategic Insight Group.

As a Senior Market Intelligence Analyst you will monitor developments andtrends in health care, and conduct research on areas of emerging importance toAMA strategy and the health care environment. The analyst will beresponsible for developing market assessments and providing recommendations to strategicleadership and AMA departments on market trends, competitive analysis, andstrategic initiatives. Working individually and collaborating with the strategyteam, the Senior Analyst will provide analysis and insight to support programstrategy, mission, and advocacy. The Senior Analyst will play a key role insupporting AMA leadership, collaborating across business units and the externalhealth care ecosystem to enhance the quality of your insights.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Market Trends Analysis& Topical Research

  • Leverage industry news and reports, financial and investment analysis, medical literature, and social listening data to identify and monitor health care innovation trends and other emerging topics of priority to the AMA
  • Support effective mechanisms for analyzing, visualizing, and disseminating relevant market intelligence to key stakeholders within the organization.
  • Contribute to and manage multiple projects simultaneously, connecting to the AMA's strategic mission and to existing and future initiatives
  • Engage appropriate stakeholders, develop, and validate research questions, collect, and synthesize relevant data, develop insights and recommendations
  • Utilize data from CB Insights, S&P, Definitive Healthcare, and public sources to develop market assessments in support of decisions on new initiatives, products, or partnerships

Market Engagement& Collaboration Development

  • Support industry-convening efforts, including strategic meetings on forward-looking topics or current priorities
  • Participate in industry events and conferences, and contribute to thought leadership products produced by the team
  • Conduct due diligence on potential collaborators and develop recommendations on fit and alignment with organizational objectives
  • Developing a credible internal brand to become recognized within the AMA as a subject matter expert to the business.
  • Interacting with senior business leaders, leading conversations, and offering differentiated and independent perspectives on issues, challenges, and opportunities facing the market
  • Communicate and promote initiatives through AMA communication channel

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's degree required, MBA or other relevant graduate degrees a plus
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in market analysis; data gathering and research design, experience within the fields of market research, equity research, investment banking, or consulting in health, innovation, or related area preferred
  3. Health care industry or domain knowledge and interest strongly preferred and experience in a consulting environment a plus
  4. Strong experience in developing market intelligence strategies, research questions or hypotheses, gathering and synthesizing data, drawing meaningful insights, and providing actionable recommendations
  5. Previous work in analyzing market opportunities and conducting company due diligence, leveraging private equity and venture capital funding or other financial data, merger, and acquisition activity, earnings transcripts, patents, and social media data
  6. Solid data analysis and visualization skills, comfort with tools and databases like Excel, PowerPoint, Rstats, Power BI, Tableau, CB Insights, Crunchbase, Hoovers, etc.
  7. Collaborates with internal and external team members to achieve results within timelines or identifies alternative approaches
  8. Communicates and presents effectively to diverse stakeholders with varying degrees of technical knowledge and including executive leadership
  9. Strong project scoping and management skills, ability to multi-task and manage details while staying centered on the "why" behind projects
  10. Some travel may be required
