Position Overview

The Senior Marketing Analyst reports to our Director of Analytics but will play a critical role in our Marketing function. This individual will be responsible for collecting, organizing, and interpreting data and results to support the growth, development, and effectiveness of the company's marketing strategies. The senior analyst will play a key role in the marketing function on a day-to-day basis by creating, maintaining, and enhancing the performance reporting, financial management and systems used to track and evaluate the overall effectiveness across sales channels (Direct/Phone and Ecommerce/Online) and marketing types (Digital and Traditional, Paid/Earned / Owned Media).

Essential Functions, Duties & Accountabilities

  1. Collect, analyze, and interpret marketing and financial data.
  2. Analyze marketing and customer acquisition data to provide key data-driven insights to the company about which products sell, to what audience, and at what price.
  3. Own the preparation of detailed reports on sales channel and marketing funnels as well as the corresponding "marketing P&L" by media type.
  4. Analyze and report on funnel metrics and campaign effectiveness including traffic, acquisition, conversion, and return on marketing investment.
  5. Develop techniques to test effectiveness of marketing strategies including the design and development of A/B tests to drive KPI improvements.
  6. Monitor marketing department budget spend, with a focus on how spending impacts metrics.
  7. Communicate regularly with company management.
  8. Identify opportunities and support the development of new marketing plans.
  9. Forecast future market, consumer, and sales trends.
  10. Conduct research on consumer and market trends, target demographics, and competing brands.
Types of Analysis

  1. Customer Segmentation Analysis: Create and maintain customer segmentation models to identify different customer groups based on demographics, behavior, and preferences. Analyze the characteristics and behaviors of each segment to tailor marketing strategies.
  2. Customer Lifetime Value Analysis: Calculate the LTV for different customer segments. Understand the long-term value of acquiring and retaining customers, which can inform marketing budget allocation.
  1. ROI Analysis: Evaluate the return on investment for various marketing initiatives, including advertising campaigns, content marketing, and promotional events. Assess the profitability and cost-effectiveness of marketing activities.
  2. Attribution Analysis: Determine which marketing channels and touchpoints contribute the most to conversions and revenue. Analyze the customer journey and assign appropriate credit to each touchpoint.
  3. Market Research and Trend Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, consumer preferences, and emerging technologies. Analyze this data to adapt marketing strategies accordingly.
  4. A/B Testing and Experimentation: Design and analyze A/B tests to compare the performance of different marketing strategies. Determine which variations produce the best results.
  5. Campaign Performance Analysis: Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns across different channels and media types. This involves tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as click-through rates, cost per call (CPC), cost per order (CPO), conversion or close rates, Return on Investment (ROI), Media Efficiency Ratio (MER) or Return on Advertising Spend (ROAS), Cost per New Name (CPNN), and customer acquisition cost (CAC).

  2. Maintain flexibility in work schedule to meet business needs.
  3. Actively and positively contribute to the overall success of the company through regular contributions to the general management of the company.
  4. Participate and provide leadership in inter-departmental meetings, projects, and informal activities.
  5. Support the company and other departments wherever and whenever your skills and experience would be beneficial.
Educational Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in marketing, statistics, mathematics, or a similar field. and/or related experience.
Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of work experience in marketing analysis, data analysis or related activities
  • Strong knowledge of analytical software, such as Google Analytics, Power BI, Oracle, Hyperion
  • Strong Proficiency with computer programs, such as Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and data interpretation skills.
  • Highly data-driven with analytical mindset
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present marketing information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information in an easy-to-understand format.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build relationships with colleagues at all levels.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Experience with a variety of marketing channels and communication methods (Traditional and/or Digital, paid - Earned - Owned Media)
  2. Solid foundation in financial statement or investment analysis, stastistical concepts and/or techniques
  3. Familiar with computer programming and/or visualization.
