Position Overview

Hexion is seeking a Senior Marketing Communications Leader to lead our marketing and communications teams as they create compelling messaging strategies, high-impact content, and effective event, social and PR campaigns. A key member of Hexion's commercial team, this individual will be responsible for improving brand awareness, enhancing market positioning, and delivering effective messaging across various channels. The role will report to the Chief Commercial Officer and will deliver high-quality leads, build strong customer engagement, and foster new business growth.

Job Responsibilities

Strategy, Planning and Execution

  • Develop and execute integrated marketing strategies that are aligned with company strategies and enable the global businesses to achieve their growth objectives.
  • Plan, budget and oversee all marketing activities. Manage a content and event calendar to ensure a consistent information flow and cohesive planning across all businesses.
  • Oversee a team of direct reports and maintain a high level of project management related to the rollout and execution of marketing activities.
  • Collaborate with commercial and IT teams to design, implement and maintain tools and systems that automate marketing, streamline workflows and enable data-driven analytics.

Messaging, Collateral & Branding

  • Work with commercial, product and strategic marketing teams to establish and/or refine the company's brand messaging, key value propositions and market differentors.
  • Manage, develop and control the brand in all media (internally and externally)and ensure consistency across all channels. Develop and maintain brand standards and ensure compliance messaging alignment across all channels, functions, businesses and regions.
  • Oversee the company's social media presence across platforms ensuring consistent messaging, driving engagement, increasing followership and promoting brand advocacy.
  • Analyze online and social media metrics to derive insights and refine the strategy for improved brand impact.
  • Develop and oversee the creation of compelling content including blog posts, sell sheets, brochures, white papers, articles, case studies, etc. Collaborate with SMEs as needed to distill technical information into accessible and engaging content for target audiences.
  • Work closely with commercial, ATM and product teams to develop product positioning and messaging strategies for new and existing offerings.
  • Lead the planning, coordination and execution of global events and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and engagement, including development of comprehensive event strategies (pre-event, on-site and post-event) to maximize impact and ROI.

PR, Corporate Relations and Crisis Communications

  • Serve as the company's media and crisis communications spokesperson. Act as central crisis communications contact for incidents that may potentially escalate to external media.
  • Develop and execute media and PR campaigns to promote product launches, company milestones, thought leadership initiatives, etc.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets (local, trade and national), industry analysts, and influencers to secure positive coverage and visibility.
  • Implement programs (including speaking engagements, media placements and industry associations) to enhance the visibility and credibilty of senior leaders as thought leaders.
  • Work with the commercial and strategic marketing teams to monitor industry trends and competitive activites to proactively identify PR opportunities and mitigate potential crises.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in marketing communication roles.
  • Proven experience in content marketing, communications, and PR, preferably in the industrial chemicals or B2B manufatuirng sector.
  • Ability to identify key messages, audiences and channels and formulate effective marcom strategies that incorporating all channels and areas of the marketing mix.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and demonstrated ability to leverage digital communications effectively for brand promotion.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with ability to distill complex technical language into clear, compelling content. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, up to executive levels.
  • Analytical skillset with a proven record of leveraging data to optimize marketing performance, drive informed decision making, and resolve problems.
  • Proficient in marketing and analytics tools to measure and optimize marketing performance
  • 4-year degree in marketing or marketing-related field.
