Senior Marketing Copywriter

As we begin the next stage in Mercari’s evolution, we’re looking for a Senior Marketing Copywriter who can turn a phrase in any situation – but with a particular knack for short-form copy. Snappy headlines paired with meaning-filled subheads? You’re the person everyone looks to.

In this role, you’ll intertwine business objectives and user journeys into cohesive droplets across the Mercari brand experience. You’ll closely collaborate with cross-functional peers to craft copy that grabs attention from audiences that are inundated with information.

What you’ll do:

Who you are:

• A creative copywriter who understands business objectives – you balance the flair of wordcraft with the goals of the brief 
• A strategic thinker with a curious perspective – the kind of person who finds the better way amid established norms
• An independent voice who utilizes team dynamics – you offer help where you have expertise and seek help where you don’t

What you’ll need:

• 8+ years of experience – focused in copywriting on-site marketing, notifications, and emails
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a field related to writing or marketing
• Proven results with A/B or multivariate copy testing
• Comfort working within design tools to refine the perfect message
• Experience creating, maintaining, and/or revising brand style guides
• A portfolio of your most effective work

The applicable salary range for each role is based on where the applicant lives and is aligned to one of 3 zones according to a cost of labor index in that geographic area. Our Talent Acquisition team can help answer any questions about location after starting the recruiting process.

Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. 

The expected base salary ranges for this role are below. These ranges may be modified in the future. In addition to base salary, Mercari’s total compensation package includes equity and a full range of physical, financial and well-being benefits. Zone 1* $108,800 - $163,200

Zone2** $97,900 - $146,900

Zone 3*** $87,000 - $130,600

*Zone 1 includes locales such as the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City
