Senior Marketing Intelligence Strategist
Job Description
The Marketing Intelligence team sits within Mintel’s Advisory group, tasked with solving complex strategic problems for Mintel’s clients. This team uses advertising data, creatives, and their best practices acumen to help our clients be prescriptive about brand and marketing strategy. This could be anything from dissecting a clients’ competitive landscape, recommending how they should launch a new product, or analyzing innovative ways they can position their products to stand out in crowded categories.
Our programs regularly intersect with other capabilities on the Advisory team, so projects can either be collaborative or independent depending on the clients’ need. A Senior Marketing Intelligence Strategist on our team must have a restless curiosity about the world, the ability to pivot on a dime, a commercial mind that is always thinking end-game, and a confidence that they can be the most creative person in the room.
The right candidate will be able to concept complete solutions for our clients, and execute that work in a way that will drive business for our clients, and spur future consultative engagements with our Advisory team. You will have the opportunity to shape and scale the direction of our Marketing Intelligence team offering, and how it can seamlessly mesh with our other Advisory and Innovation offerings to deliver complete solutions for our clients. This role will prioritize custom programs in the financial services industry, so experience with financial services or clients in regulated industries is a plus.
You ideally will have at least 3 years of experience in experience in advertising, strategy, brand planning, and competitive intelligence, preferably within an agency environment. You should be able to demonstrate skills in critical thinking, be effective presenting to high-level executives, display poise under pressure, and be able to seamlessly shift from high altitude thinking to the tangible and practical.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Leading the full lifecycle of Marketing Intelligence projects from pitching to proposing to execution. You will also help to identify new, impactful ways to apply secondary research findings to drive business decisions for our Financial Services clients.
- Applying an art/science approach to project execution, which could include everything from trended media spend analysis, commentary on best-practices creative strategy, dissection of promotional priorities, or channel deep dives.
- Serving as an advertising strategy leader and innovator both internally and with Mintel’s clients.
- Collaborating with a highly motivated team of client-facing account managers and consultants to develop commercial opportunities for our services.
- Keeping the Advisory team up-to-date on advancements in advertising strategy.
