Position Overview
The Senior Product Analyst is responsible for developing analytics and reporting and owning the organization and movement of marketing data across the Paylocity marketing data ecosystem. As a Senior Product Analyst, you will be a key thought leader in making strategic data-driven decisions and developing our marketing data ecosystem, and you will take the lead on maturing our targeted campaigns as well as report on various marketing projects to scale our strategic capabilities.
You will be advising on process improvement and consulting on scaling data collection, reporting, and analytics. Core to this role is translating data into insights with respect to our product marketing efforts that can lead the rest of the marketing and go-to-market organization. You'll be leveraging product data to develop high performing marketing campaigns.

  • Determine the right reporting to answer business questions and create and develop visualizations, reports, and insights for marketing and sales teams.
  • Manage reporting environment, delivery of visualizations and reporting, and communication of insights to stakeholders across different sales and marketing groups.
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, operations, finance, and product teams on data and tool infrastructure
  • Verify accuracy of reporting by validating across multiple data sources (finance, sales, product, operations) and working with cross functional groups
  • Educate other cross functional teams on marketing reporting, tools and data sources, providing support and reporting as needed
  • Effectively communicate analytical results and insights to non-technical team members and senior level executives.
  • Independently prioritize and scope new requests from within marketing and form other teams and scope project timelines, data sources involved, appropriate report or visualization needed, and cross functional support needed
  • Deliver weekly reporting to the marketing team and executives
  • Identify and prioritize products and client segments for cross-sell and utilization campaigns
  • Manage upsell and cross-sell campaign execution - extract, combine, and analyze product utilization and CRM data to forecast performance and report results and manage operational execution (i.e. pulling contact lists for targeting) while partnering closely across Product, Sales, Service, and Marketing teams
  • Identify performance execution improvements for automation of product campaigns and reporting (identify manual workflows that are available for automation, cleaning up and aligning data sources, etc.)
  • Drive insights as the subject matter expert of product utilization data for the marketing team to run successful adoption and upsell campaigns
  • Support revenue targets for adoption and upsell campaigns with ad hoc analysis and make recommendations to optimize targeting and conversion rate

Education and Experience
  • 3 - 5 years of experience as an analyst in a go-to-market function (marketing or sales)
  • Produce regular (daily/weekly/monthly) reports and analyses
  • 2-3 years driving insights with analytics leveraging a deep understanding of the details of how data is created and is used to solve business problems
  • BS in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics
  • Prior detailed quantitative analysis to capture insights from data
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL, R, or Python
  • 2+ years of experience using Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience with data warehouse concepts and ETL/ELT
  • 3+ years of experience with CRM (Salesforce.com) tools
  • Experience using Cloud Platforms

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $74,575 - $135,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here. This information is provided per the relevant state and local pay transparency laws for the location in which this position will be performed. Base pay information is based on market location.
