Summary / Role Purpose

The Senior Marketing Specialist will support Ansys' global strategy for securing customer testimonials/content and for amplifying those assets through marketing and events.

The role will be responsible for project managing and implementing the global strategy for customer references, will recruit and manage high-touch reference relationships for customers, create and maintain in-depth customer profiles and contacts, manage reference request fulfillment and track reference activity and outcomes. This role will also foster and promote long-term, mutually beneficial customer relationships. The candidate with interface very closely with the events team to ensure strategic alignment and advise on which customers to recruit and how/when to use references for company and industry events; in addition, the candidate may also provide on-site event support and collaborate on the creation of PowerPoint presentations decks as needed.

The successful candidate will develop strategies for integrated customer reference engagement plans that showcase customer success via a variety of deliverables and content. The person must possess the ability to interface directly with customers, keeping the best interests of both Ansys and our customers in mind.

A key factor of this role is the ability to serve a variety of stakeholders - both internal and external, including C-Level. The role is about finding the right customers for the right situation, while enhancing customer relationships and preventing their burnout from Ansys requests.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports the global strategy for customer engagements, including logos, testimonials, press releases, media interviews, speaking slots at Ansys events, quotes for Ansys marketing assets, IR presentations, 360-degree storytelling, etc.
  • Further develops and maintains standard process for approaching customers
  • Builds strategic relationships and partnerships with customer communications/public relations leaders to facilitate permissions management
  • Creates and maintains in-depth customer profiles and contacts
  • Interfaces with sales and applications engineers to identify stories at early stage of the deal and build a 360-degree communications plan and value proposition for customers
  • Acts as an advisor for account managers on the appropriate customer proof points for negotiations
  • Increases program adoption and visibility within Ansys
  • Supports strategic events team as needed

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, engineering, business, or related field
  • Customer service mindset critical
  • Strong project and program management skills
  • Highly effective communicator with the ability to work cross functionally, managing simultaneous projects with schedule constraints
  • Highly organized; ability to multi-task and prioritize among a wide range of responsibilities
  • Proactive individual with an extreme attention to detail
  • Experience in B2B technology marketing with understanding of current technology market trends
  • Sense of urgency
  • Collaborative, team-oriented attitude

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • PR agency background strongly preferred
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience
  • Skilled in leading and influencing with authority while holding stakeholders accountable
  • Capable of constructing workable solutions when presented with multiple points of view
  • Strong process management skills and commitment to continuously improving quality and efficiencies of his/her own work and that of the team
  • Ability to work quickly and decisively, switching from Project Management tasks to critical thinking to customer engagement
