First San Francisco Partners is looking for an experienced Customer MDM Lead Consultant to lead information management strategy engagements with a Customer MDM emphasis. This person would use First San Francisco’s proven assessment and workshop frameworks to deliver high value information management, strategy and governance programs.
What You'll be Doing:
- Understands the entire customer life cycle, including overall customer engagement and experience strategy, sales and marketing requirements, financial and regulatory reporting requirements, and other customer data operational or analytics needs.
- Leads technical customer data assessment engagements and workshops based on FSFP’s methodology.
- Works with Data Integration Hubs around data modeling, data mappings, data validation, hierarchy management and overall security.
- Implements MDM suite of tools to design, develop, optimize and support MDM for various domains.
- Defines, configures and optimize various MDM processes and stages including data ingestion/acquisition, standardization/enrichment, harmonization and data provisioning using MDM tools.
- Helps clients build in-house MDM skills around various MDM technologies, Data Quality tools, database systems, and analytical tools and interactions with Big Data platforms
- Defines & implements measurable KPIs to gauge ROI and success of enterprise MDM initiative.
- Provides training and coaching on how to interpret and use master data for business analysis
- Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct/indirect reports (as applicable) promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results
- Responsible for the success of a Customer Master Data Management (MDM) product implementation, the critical component of a given data domain.
- Develops customer data visions by engaging with internal stakeholders, customers, and the broader community, then supervises the breakdown of those visions into an actionable backlog of user stories for engineering teams.
- Helps guide the strategy and vision for customer data capabilities within the domain(s) and manages execution.
- Serves as high level arbitrator on customer data scopes, requirements, and backlog priorities within the department and across supporting business units.
- Reviews customer data solutions within the domain(s).
- Works across the domain to prioritize, plan, and manage the delivery of software products that meets customer requirements in an agile-development approach and fast-paced environment.
- Provides recommendations from a technical and architectural perspective, highlighting current state, future state, best practices, and information management solution offerings.
- Develops roadmap/methodology required to move from current state to future state, including changes and implications to existing architecture and systems.
- Manages client expectations and relationships, establish credibility at all levels within the client and build problem-solving partnerships with the client and colleagues.
- Presents customer master data management solutions and value-added services, complying with the Company's information management policies and procedures.
- Facilitates sessions for technical requirements gathering, data capturing and analysis, and business rule identification.
- Facilitate organization change management processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- BA/BS or advanced degree in Business/Computer Science/MIS or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5 – 12 years’ experience in Information Management: Data or Enterprise Architecture, Data Quality, Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Warehousing and Business Analytics.
- Experience with Data Governance and Change Management as it pertains to the technical side of Information Management is a plus.
- Familiarity with setting up customer taxonomy and other hierarchical structures, product identification and product as well as related reference data.
- Experience with oversight and managing product(s) within an enterprise data domain(s).
- Past work with organizations that are new to more rigorous management and governance of product data.
- Skilled with MDM software, implementation and technologies.
- Background in Metadata, data architecture and date lineage. Familiarity with Business glossary, data dictionary, and data catalog.
- Experience with tool selection and use of enterprise architecture tools, data movement tools
- Data Acquisition experience with data onboarding and ingestion.
- Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in business analysis: gathering data, synthesizing information, forming insights and providing feedback.
- Ability to facilitate small group (up to 20) discussions and decision-making.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with multiple and sometimes conflicting personal agendas.
- Knowledge around unstructured data and semantic master data.
- Involvement with data analysis, data modeling, data integration (ETL), data profiling (tool based) and design in the MDM space.
- Knowledge of leading trends and best practices in MDM.
- Expert level understanding of MDM processes and tools, Data Quality, Data Integration, Workflow, relational, flat and big data
- Strong experience with data and information architecture:
- Proficiency in dimensional data modeling, Schema design in Data Warehouses, Service design, development & implementation for ingestion and consumption.
- Solid understanding of storage solutions: Cloud, Hybrid and On-premise.
- Project Management skills-ability to manage complex data oriented programs to deliver on-time results and recommendations for action/next steps
- A proven track record of working with Senior and C-level executives
- Professional on-site consulting experience, preferably with a large management consulting or systems integration firm, or for the services arm of an enterprise software company.
- Experience in program/project management. PMP certification is a plus
- Former global consulting experience is a plus (i.e. Accenture, Deloitte, etc.).
- Technical knowledge of MDM, SAP and ERP a plus
- CDMP Data Management certification is highly preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50% if needed. (This is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
- Candidate must be able to work remotely and have a professional backdrop for regular video meetings. Must be available for video meetings and calls during (US) client business hours.
