Senior Media Relations Specialist (Hybrid)

Job Description

Responsible for growing, shaping and maintaining Belkin's reputation and brand. Identify media opportunities, maintain existing media relations and grow new ones, promote positive public awareness through external communications.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Manage relationships with reporters, editors, influencers and other industry professionals to ensure positive press coverage
• Must have personal tier one media relationships in our industry and be talented at growing new relationships.
• Research topics related to Belkin's mission to help develop effective communications strategies and promote positive public awareness through external communications
• Develop and implement media strategies to build awareness for Belkin
• Manage public relations crises such as dealing with negative comments or responding to customer complaints about service issues

Education and Experience Requirements:

• 4 year college degree or sufficient proficiency in written and verbal communications skills.
• 8+ plus years experience in a similar position, preferably at PR agencies
• B2B and/or B2C, agency, CPG or consumer electronics industry experience required.
• Ability to expertly understand multiple technologies and translate this deep understanding to varying consumer and business audiences
• Strong, long-standing 1:1 media relationships; ability to quickly forge new media relationships via high emotional intelligence and storytelling

The starting base salary for this position is:

$110,000

Factors such as geographic location, academic credentials, relevant experience, and specific knowledge, skills and abilities will influence the actual salary offered. In addition to a competitive market-based salary, compensation also includes a performance-based bonus, and in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
