Key Job Functions/Responsibilities

Install, design and maintain database system software and implement database security.

Monitor and analyze database performance, identify database current and future performance bottlenecks and ensure effective and efficient utilization of database systems/processes. Work with development teams to tune and optimize queries.

Develop, implement and maintain test database backup and recovery policies and procedures.

Create and maintain documentation for SQL database policies, procedures, and processes.

Troubleshoot and provide solutions to database related issues from performance and design standpoint.

Ensure 24/7 availability, security & integrity of the production application environment. This includes participation in 24/7 on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.

Participate in continuous business process redesign to improve internal operations.

Provide technical leadership on all the stages of database implementation including development, deployment and maintenance of strategic and tactical architectural plans for the database environments

Manage technology projects from initiation to completion.

Willingness to learn and excel in new database technologies

Willing to work in flexible shifts including night shifts.

10+ years of experience with database administration with a focus on MS SQL Server 2012/Oracle 10g to 19c.

Skills:

10+ years of experience in SQL Server High Availability, Log Shipping and CDC Replication

10+ years of experience in automation and managing large database environments

10+ years of experience maintaining a high volume, mission critical application in a SaaS environment

5+ years of experience in automating database operations.

5+ years of experience working with Systems using Oracle database, SQL Server and Java.

5+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL programming as well as TSQL.

5+ years of experience on Cloud database technologies (AWS, Azure, Snowflake)

5+ years of experience with Windows Server administration

5+ years of experience with incremental/differential backup on SQL/Oracle databases.

Extensive experience with query tuning and database performance optimization

Proficiency in PowerShell andor Python scripting

Experience with LINUX server a plus

Experience with RedShift Administrations along with DynamoDB

Experience administering Postgres database is a plus

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Information TechnologyComputer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
