Technology Service Management - Middleware Team

Do you want to be a part of the team that launches Middleware technologies for all of Thomson Reuters? This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in a high-growth, collaborative team. As a member of the 24X7 Middleware Global Support team in Service Management, you will be accountable for the installation and support of mission-critical Middleware implementations that support customer facing, revenue generating applications and Corporate and Internal application implementations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate very strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience on Middleware technologies such as IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere Application Server, Globalscape EFT, and open-source technologies such as Apache Tomcat and RabbitMQ. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team that launches Middleware technologies for all of Thomson Reuters.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Senior Middleware Engineer, you will:

  • Support the shift operation from 8 am to 5 pm Central Time
  • Handle and own incidents, problems, change & service requests.
  • Participate in Solution Designs for new Middleware deployments.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and migrate different versions of software.
  • Partner with Infrastructure Architecture groups to define and refine the standards that guide Thomson Reuters' use of Middleware technologies.
  • Research new Middleware technologies and automation to improve operations efficiency.
  • Work with Middleware product vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues with middleware software and configurations.
  • Advocate proactively for improvements to the Middleware standard operating model that will improve team efficiency or provide improved service to our customers.
  • Prepare and present high quality technical and non-technical documentation around Middleware technologies, and the standard processes used to support these technologies.
  • Evaluate and communicate risk as a top consideration for all actions taken on behalf of customers.
  • Monitor, track, review, and audit environments to ensure conformation to standards.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Senior Middleware Engineer if your background includes:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science/IT or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in supporting IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM MQ on UNIX/Linux platform.
  • Working knowledge of J2EE concepts, standards, and technology, including servlets, JSPs, and EJBs.
  • Linux Shell Scripting - intermediate
  • Basic Linux/Windows Administration skills
  • Basic understanding of operating systems, networking, load-balancing/F5 and cloud-computing concepts.
  • Knowledge on other technologies such as Apache Tomcat, RabbitMQ, and Globalscape EFT is a plus.
  • Certifications like AWS - SAA or Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator would be a plus.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following states (CA, CO, CT, NV, WA) and/or remote. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $88,200 - $163,800. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
