Job Description
Re/Spec, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer for its Lexington, KY office who will perform the following job duties:
- Coordinate a team of professionals including engineers, technicians, and geologists;
- Coordinate mineral exploration programs;
- Prepare technical and financial proposals for complex national and international mineral consulting projects;
- Prepare and manage the budget of a program within the M&E group;
- Interact with domestic and international clients including exploration and mining companies, bankers and other investors, mining, and environmental regulators; and
- Manage projects including activities such as exploration, mine design, mine planning, developing feasibility studies for mineral projects and preparing public disclosure reports on mineral assets and operations.
Must have a Masterβs degree in Mining Engineering or related engineering discipline and 3 years of related experience. Required experience must include 3 years of experience in the following specific areas:
- Preparation of geologic and block models for resource and reserve estimation as per US and international reporting standards; and
- Mine planning, which includes pit design, production scheduling, and short-term and long-term planning using modelling software such as Surpac and Carlson.
Required experience must include 2 years of experience in the following specific areas:
- Mining project valuation, which includes mining commodity market analysis, competitor analysis, mining pit definition and development, and project financial valuation.
- Technical report writing, which includes collaborating to write technical reports in accordance with international and US reporting standards. These technical reports are public and are used to report resource and reserve and mining operations of companies listed in different stock exchanges in the world; and
- Due diligence studies, which includes conducting due diligence studies covering different aspects such as geology, mining, market, and financial aspects of a mining project. The study informs the client the challenges and opportunities with the project and whether it is worth investing in the project.
Required experience must include 1 year of experience in the following specific areas:
- Project management, which includes managing projects scope, timeline, budget, and billing. Acting as a liaison between the client and the firm and aiming to provide the highest quality work to the client; and
- Business development, which includes working with the group leader and management to expand the business of the firm and bring in new clients.
