Job Description

The Senior Mission Services Engineer will work along the superintendent and the director of subsea operations, directing the activities of Mission Services Engineers in the field so that Nauticus may deliver our world class service offering to internal and external customers. This staff member is responsible for leading field crews which will deliver services with Nauticus vehicles to internal and external customers. This position reports to the Mission Services Superintendent.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Primary responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with all MS field staff and mentor Mission Services Engineers
• Assist in driving procedure and policy development for all field work and assets.
• Ensure that your team represents our company in the best possible way. Professionalism, worth ethic, and intelligence set us apart from the rest and you will ensure our team knows that.
• Drive accountability throughout the teams with the assistance of management
• Listen and comply with the direction of the Superintendent to ensure that the service offered in all regions is of the same high quality – regardless of person or place.
• Ensure work is executed efficiently and in compliance with management desires while offshore.
• Lead the field teams during the mobilization phase and ensure the project team’s needs are accurately fed into the Mission services team ecosystem.
• Demonstrate your leadership capabilities ever hour of every day.

Other functions and responsibilities

Occasionally other tasks may be required of Mission Services team members, including.

• International travel to support manufacturing and testing of equipment.
• General shop duties

Qualifications

Required

• Electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair
• Experience operating and maintaining AUVs and/or other Unmanned Underwater Vehicles or Systems.
• Demonstrated self-starter.
• Ability to travel within the US and internationally with little notice.
• Comfortable on small vessels and able to work through sea sickness as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• The employee will also be frequently required to stand.
• The employee must frequently lift, push, or pull equipment at a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to work on small vessels.
• Ability to work through sea sickness when experienced or required.
• Must be able to climb ladders, maneuver in tight spaces, and stand for extended periods.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office environment and in industrial environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This role will require travel to field sites. Conditions may include exposure to heat, loud environments, small vessel maritime conditions, and 12-hour shifts.

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas, which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
