About the RoleIn this role as a Senior Mobile Engineer you’ll be steering the development and ongoing enhancement of our iOS and Android app using React Native contributing to a platform that stands out through its positive impact. Your skill set will also be invaluable in supporting our web app and backend operations when needed. What You’ll Own- Own the technical direction of the mobile app including architecture maintainability and long-term evolution
- Build critical features using React Native and native iOS and Android where appropriate
- Define and uphold standards for mobile code quality through thoughtful reviews and technical guidance
- Optimize the application's performance in environments with degraded connectivity
- Establish strong automated testing practices that meaningfully protect product quality
- Design and shape APIs and interfaces in partnership with backend engineers to ensure durability and consistency
- Drive mobile app observability allowing team to understand mobile app performance & feature adoption at-a-glance
- Debug user-reported issues to deliver timely solutions
- Provide guidance to junior developers. Promote best practices for mobile development within the team
- iOS and Android Development: 5+ years of experience in iOS and Android app development with deep proficiency in the iOS SDK and Xcode.
- React Native: 3+ years of experience building and maintaining production-level applications using React Native.
- Performance & Optimization: Proven ability to optimize mobile application performance including handling memory management multi-threading and connectivity challenges.
- AI Adoption: You actively use AI coding tools (Cursor Claude Code) as a core part of how you work. Your AI usage goes well beyond basic prompting and into automating tasks long-running processes and complex integrations.
- Observability: Experience leveraging app analytics and observability tools to monitor health and drive data-informed improvements.
- Problem Solving: Expert at debugging and addressing complex iOS issues with a high level of ownership and a curious investigative mindset.
- Collaboration: A kind and helpful teammate who approaches engineering challenges with a collaborative attitude and a desire to help others succeed.
- The annual salary for this role is between $160000-$180000 + equity + benefits (including medical dental and vision)
- Flexible PTO
- Location: Remote US or Canada. NYC Preferred.
