Senior Narrative Designer

Intercept Games is a Private Division/Take-Two development studio currently focused on the creation of Kerbal Space Program 2 (KSP2) as well as an unannounced stylized science-based adventure game. Are you an experienced writer and narrative designer? Are you passionate about interactive experiences that keep the player at the center? Can you collaborate with content and systems designers to deliver stories and characters that come alive in the game world, not just on the written page? As a Senior Narrative Designer for an unannounced project, you will build a lighthearted universe, layer a story that takes players on an adventure where any problem can be solved creatively, and provide compelling, universe-consistent grounding for gameplay systems.

• Write all game narrative, including cinematics, dialog, and supporting text.
• Design storytelling systems and work with systems designers and engineers to test, tune, and polish and extend these systems.
• Work with artists and content designers to develop the history and ecosystems of game locations.
• Work with sound designers and engineers to organize and implement all narrative assets.

• 5+ years professional writing or narrative design experience.
• Familiarity with various narrative delivery mechanics, and the ability to weigh their strengths and weaknesses with regard to specific story goals.
• Ability to pitch, self-critique, and accept feedback from others.
• Interest in game design, particularly in sandbox games.
• Interest in space travel, and science in general.
• Experience working within established IPs.
