Job Description

Job Role: Senior Network Administrator

Location: Bangalore (Hybrid Mode) 

Experience Range: 7-15 Years 

Overview: We are seeking an experienced Network Administrator to support our network operations and manage day-to-day changes in our network environment. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Fortinet Firewall, Forti Switches, and Forti WAP, along with a strong background in routing, switching, and network security.

• Support daily network operations, implementing necessary changes to maintain optimal network performance.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Fortinet Firewalls, Forti Switches, and Forti Wireless Access Points (WAP).
• Manage and troubleshoot routing, firewall, and switching systems with a strong focus on network security.
• Diagnose and resolve firewall-related issues, with expertise in routing protocols, particularly OSPF.
• Stay updated with industry knowledge on networking, telecommunications, VoIP, LAN/WAN, and TCP/IP administration.
• Address network performance issues such as connectivity, bandwidth, and latency.
• Plan and execute device backups, updates, upgrades, patches, and vulnerability remediation to ensure a secure and efficient network.
• Manage severe or crisis incidents, coordinating with vendors and OEMs to ensure a smooth resolution.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, troubleshooting processes, and best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations to handle critical network incidents and minimize downtime.
• Proactively identify potential network issues and take corrective actions to mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• Skills Required:

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Strong knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and LAN switching, WAN, MPLS, and SD-WAN.
  • Expertise in TCP/IP protocol suite and application protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SNMP, SSL).
  • Proficiency in network security, including firewall policies, intrusion detection, and threat prevention.
  • Experience with Data Center architecture involving networking, server, and storage components.

• Fortinet Expertise:

  • Practical experience with Fortinet products, including FortiGate Firewalls, Forti Switches, and Forti WAPs.

• Troubleshooting and Analysis:

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities for maintaining enterprise data networks.
  • Experience with resolving network connectivity, performance, and latency issues.
  • Proficient in interpreting, preparing, and modifying high-level (HLD) and low-level (LLD) network diagrams.

• Communication and Collaboration:

  • Effective communication and escalation management skills to liaise with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead severe incident management and coordinate across teams and external partners.

• Service Management:

  • Familiarity with service management concepts and tools for monitoring, ticketing, and incident management.

• Other Skills:

  • Attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving network issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex network configurations.
